Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Having arrived in Carrickalinga for the Easter weekend, we were pleased to find a place open for a late lunch. We settled on some pizzas which looked good. Our waitress was friendly, but didn’t return to wipe our tables clean after we requested this. Our...coffees arrived in good time, and were ok, but we waited for close to an hour for our pizzas. A table next to us arrived after us, was served, ate, and left before our pizzas arrived. We politely asked a couple of times, and were told that “there’s a lot happening in the kitchen right now”. The cafe was less than half full. When the pizzas finally arrived, they were very yummy. Overall we likely won’t return - while the food is good, it is over-priced. Rather go to the place next door.More

I had the calamari which was actually octopi and deep fried in breadcrumbs with a reasonable fresh and interesting mix of fresh veg and chirozo etc. the treatment of the main seafood made it stogy and totally unappetizing. Poor value at $25 a plate...so disappointing...at $33...will not return.More

Had a great experience here last year when I visited. Was so keen to get back here but I was very disappointed second time around. They were busy (that's fine!) but we were definitely forgotten about multiple times. We definitely weren't needy customers, but had...to flag down someone to order. Service was slow. The food was delicious but tiny portions and expensive. I had the thai beef salad. Cannot recommend anymore. No value for money. Left feeling hangry. So disappointing. Melbourne prices for regional SA location. I will not be back in a hurry.More

What a treasure find this cafe was. Top notch service to the table. Superb coffee and the best cooked breakfast had in a long time. Poached eggs cooked to perfection, bacon crisp and plentiful and the same for the scrambled eggs. Went two days in...a row as so good. Barista Cheyenne was absolutely lovely and really knew how to make coffee.More

This is a true hidden gem. The atmosphere is perfect, the food is sophisticated but family friendly and the service is charming and professional. We all had a wonderful family lunch. Thank you and well done. We will be back very soon !

Whenever we visit normanville we always make sure to have a breakfast at this quirky little place. I’ve had many items on the menu over the years and all were delicious but these days I stick to the kale shakshuka with a side of bacon...(Barossa I think) which is cooked in the pizza oven. The red and green juices are local (ish) and beautiful, coffee really good. Staff are friendly and efficient. Ambience comfortable albeit a little busy at times (sign of a good eatery). If you’re down this way, don’t miss out Tip. Weekend patronage quite heavy at times so get here earlyish if you want to avoid waiting for a tableMore

Cute little place, nice location but service was very average today, me and my family didn't feel welcome. My coffee was nice but desserts I would avoid.

We've been here a few consecutive summers now and this place seems to be getting better - every time!! The coffee here has always been excellent as has the service!! The menu hasn't changed much...but is diverse, fairly priced with ample choices - all delicious...making it hard to choose!! This time, I opted for the turmeric chai and poached eggs on sour dough with herbs and they were both superb!!More

I ordered the Cauliflower Pakora. Never had it before, but it was delish! Would recommend. Dad ordered the slowcooked lamp flatbread and enjoyed it. The highlight was the lemon tart with cream and icecream. The crust was nutty and handmade and honestly...close to perfection. Loved...that it was also gluten free. Will be back to try the GF Creme Brulee. Yum.More

One staff member trying her hardest to do everything, no complaints there. My bacon and egg roll was seriously overpriced, burnt bacon, rock hard roll and undistinguished egg. It had obviously been left under the warmer too long. My wife's meal of mushroom pasta was...OK but once again expensive for what it was. No wonder the locals avoid this place.More

Great service and best coffee and golden chai around. The pastries were pretty special as well. A must if you are in Normanville.
