Went to the Cerberus Beach House restaurent but that was closed, so we joined the line waiting to buy the takeaway fish and chips. Paid 70$ for a Family Pack which was way over priced, and was so disgustingly oily that the box almost fell...apart whilst walking to the beach. None of the items had any salt on it, and the fish pieces itself were messy as they looked like they'd just been thrown in the box. I could go on but basically I would avoid this place. Other than being the ONLY food place at the beach, the food was oily, messy, had no salt and certainly WAY OVERPRICED.More

We have been back to Cerberus several times as it’s reliably great food and service. The menu is good and there are always some interesting specials on the board. Make sure you leave room for desert ! Book in advance and read the parking signs...carefully, they’re confusing...More

I recently ate in the upstairs restaurant and was blown away by the quality of the food ( the cauliflower dish is a must- YUM)! The service was also lovely, with helpful and kind wait staff. Definitely will be back! 5 stars!

I was heading from Melbourne CBD to Mornington & was looking for somewhere midway to stop by for lunch, I'm glad I chose this place, I made a booking just to be sure which was handy as it was pretty busy on a Saturday. It's...right on the water, the place is a bit small but they can fit in a lot of people. Staff were so friendly and helpful and chatty and attentive, so I gave them a nice tip. They had an entree on special that day of a shallow fried whole flounder, so I gave that a go, and went for salmon as a main. Everything was lovely, I didn't mind using my fork to get around the fish bones in the flounder as it was pretty fresh, the salmon in butter sauce with greens & a bit of crispy skin was delightful, and the beer selection was alright. They sat me up against the window so I spent most of my time chilling out looking over the beach. Definitely recommend doing that if you can.More

Six women out for lunch to celebrate a 70th birthday. Parking can be a nightmare, especially on a stunning warm Melbourne day. The view is just beautiful. Probably good to go for the second sitting for lunch, and not be rushed out. The dumplings were...delicious, the barramundi perfect and not too big and the desserts looked fantastic. Everyone was happy with everything they had. All staff we spoke to were friendly. Highly recommended and looking forward to going again..More

Post lock-down and we finally made it to Half Moon Bay. We had no trouble getting a table for two on a busy Saturday. The wait staff were attentive and the menu diverse and inviting. We loved the barramundi and salted caramel soufflé. We enjoyed...the venue so much that we will be back again. A lovely setting with a positive vibe and great food!More

The location of Cerberus at Half Moon Bay makes for a fabulous view. Even better if you’re there for sunset. The menu is really good and each dish we tried was delicious. The crab sliders and prawn dumplings were especially standouts. We are locals and...return as often as we can .More

The first visit to a decent restaurant after Covid lockdown was always going to be a big event and Cerberus did not disappoint. We were lucky in that we got a window seat overlooking the picturesque Half Moon Bay with the sunken ship and the...Melbourne city skyline in the background. It also happened to be a stormy evening so we were treated to an electric storm coming across the bay and rain pelting against the windows. We had fresh oysters, soft shell crab sliders and an interesting king fish sashimi served with a strawberry jus (never had anything like it), followed by pasta and the barramundi for mains. Deserts were the chocolate mouse and one of the best soufflés that I have ever had. Also managed to drink a fair portion of the menu, too, including a couple of cocktails and some local craft beer and wine which were all good. There was heaps of parking close by but beware that after Covid restrictions have lifted you may have to park your car in a nearby suburban street and leave yourself a short walk down to the bay.More

Worst chips we have ever had. Nothing like the pics on your website . Was very disappointed as we were looking forward to a nice lunch there. Also staff came out of restaurant, hugged people in car park and then went back inside, no social...distancing at all.More

We have eaten at this lovely restaurant many times and never once been disappointed. However, on Saturday night we were very disappointed. We were celebrating two birthdays and were given a lovely window table. Our entrees were fantastic. I had the octopus, my partner had...the prawns and we both said we would have them again. However, we had to wait quite a while for our main courses which were not so good. My partner had the special lamb shank which seemed to be minus the mash that was promised and was served quite cool on a cold plate. My friend ordered the fish and chips which were also not hot and not crisp. I was lucky and had the gold band snapper which was crisp and perfectly cooked served with salad. The fourth diner also had the snapper but with the risotto which was cold. Although we had a good evening and the view was fantastic we came away a little sad that such a popular restaurant had let their standards slip. The service was also very slow although there looked to be plenty of staff.More
