Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just a really good restaurant with outstanding service, great food and a good range of drinks. Meals are generous and in my view were good value- you will not leave hungry. Absolutely recommend a visit!

We went to Leopard Lodge Steakhouse to celebrate a family birthday on Saturday night. We were impressed immediately with the South African decor, so reminiscent of Lodges we saw when we travelled there. The staff were lovely and even though the place was packed we...didn't wait overly long for our orders. We had a share platter which was amazing, so tasty and the steak was delicious. I enjoyed the distinctive Sth African tastes like meilie pap which I hadn't tried before and the kids loved meeting Tiger, the resident friendly tabby. The youngest of our family is 12 and loved his kids steak. The deserts were excellent, very generous proportions. Congratulations to the staff, we loved it and will be back :)More

So I had been planning on visiting this restaurant for a couple of years now and since it was my last trip to Australia I decided to go. I was treating my Australian partner as a parting meal and we chose this restaurant. We were...some of the first to arrive for an early evening meal which means food should have arrived relatively quickly and nice and hot, not the case. We were given a friendly welcome and could choose where to sit. It was rather cold in the restaurant but hopefully a hot meal and more people it would warm up. Rather eager young man rushed up to take our order, when I explained we had only just sat and opened the menu. He popped off to arrive back a couple of minutes later, and had to be despatch once again. Ordered drinks which were fine and arrived quickly. Took our orders of rack of ribs. People started arriving and became full quite quickly, unfortunately tables were so close together that waiting staff had to keep asking people to move their chairs as they couldn't get through. So we were now waiting half an hour and still no food, despite being first to order. Eventually food arrived and looked very nice, mistake, these were the worse ribs I've ever had. Even with a sharp knife there was no cutting them, and no meat on them anyway. My partner ordered chips with his which were cold, which wasn't a surprise as it was so cold there people were eating in their coats. This was followed my the family cat who curled up on the seats and for some odd reason a singer in a white tuxedo singing BeeGees numbers, which I struggled to see what connection there was with Africa 😂 We obviously complained as it wasn't edible and was told it was due to their suppliers. Professionals would know what they were buying was my thought. However an apology was forthcoming and my partners meal refunded. We left, however this was a little tricky as we had to ask people to move their chairs mid eating so we could get out. Laughing by this point, we went and got something to eat! Going back no, recommended no, left hungry and laughing, yes!More

The food is good which is the main reason you go but the service is hit and miss. It is not consistent. This is our third visit and always little annoying problems. Not enough chairs for the number of persons booked. That was rectified. Needed...3 more water glasses. Asked 3 different wait staff 4 times and it’s like your request disappears in the ether. The owner is very convivial. The restaurant is nice but wouldn’t rush back in a hurry.More

I have been to the Leopard Lodge several times, both with friends and family, and by myself. On every occasion, I have left very happy. This is one of the best steakhouses in WA. Even though the wait times for food can sometimes be long,...it is well worth it in the end. The steak is always cooked to perfection exactly as ordered, as are the other dishes available at the restaurant. My personal favourite thing to order is the tribal feast platter. Great value for the money. The restaurant itself has a wonderful atmosphere. Everything from the chairs and tables to the paintings, roof, music and animal mounts. It really makes you feel like you are relaxing at the end of the day while on safari in South Africa or Namibia. The owners are very friendly and always go out if their way to give you the best experience possible. Their passion for both food and their customers is clearly evident. Easily one of my favourite restaurants in WA.More

Live music night but still quiet and we could talk easily. The porterhouse steaks with Sadsa and monkey gland sauce great. Looks like a safari lodge , very friendly service from all. Absolutely enjoyed our evening.

Our family of 6 adults went here to celebrate my birthday. My son in law ordered a rib eye , to be told I think there’s only 1 left ( we only wanted one ….. so he went off to check ) My daughter in...law ordered chicken thighs to be told 1 hour later that they didn’t have any but she could have a parmegana .we arrived at 7 , our food came in at 8.40…. I had ordered a 250 g porterhouse with sauce on the side. It came smothered in sauce , probably to cover up the huge amounts of fat. My daughters 450g steak ended up being 200 g of edible meat the rest was thick disgusting fat. My husband ordered half ribs and steak . The ribs were the worst he had ever had anywhere , no meat on them and the steak was so thin it was like a minute steak . My son in laws rib eye ( the last one !!!! ) was so chewy and tough. His remarks were “ cheap meat “ even the jug of Coke Zero was flat. !!!! To top it all , the staff wanted to clear the plates twice whilst we were all still eating , just shows the knives and forks were on the plate more than being used to feed our mouths. A waste of money , very disappointing. We will not be back !!!More

Haven't been out for a while and headed out for our Anniversary to somewhere new and WOW are we glad we did! The Leopard Lodge in Carabooda is amazing. Set away, from the main road in a beautiful rustic setting with an amazing view if the...stars this place is awesome all the way! The food is wonderfully presented, BIG on flavour with authentic South African cuisine. Very generous serves too make the dinning experience first class. A hands-on approach from the owner and a well staffed polite and polished waitstaff only add to the occasion. You have to try this place, we will be going back for many a time to come!More
