I hadn't been to this cafe for a few years and was so pleasantly surprised at the amazing quality of the food and coffee the new owners have brought to this sensational location. Service was professional, fast and friendly. The food was great: tasty and...fresh and made with care and thought. They make their own sourdough bread and it was fantastic. Also very good coffee. Highly recommend that you make this your over the Daintree lunch stop.More

Stopped for lunch on the way back from Cape Tribulation to Port Douglas. Not many places open, so took a chance. Food was good and plentiful, nice beach views. Glad we stopped.

We stopped in to reminisce about previous visits more than a decade ago and were happy we did. The location is idyllic and the food was even better. I had the divine tofu in broth and wish I could go back tomorrow for more. I've...worked in the restaurant industry many years and am rarely this impressed by a vegan dish. (The kids loved their nuggets and chips too) Thank you to the chef and wait staff. It's obvious you love what you do.More

Delicious- I can’t eat bread so asked to have the corned beef and sauerkraut on a plate and received this large portion on salad greens - sooo good!!

Having dined regularly at this idyllic beach side eatery in the Daintree rainforest for over thirty years, i stopped on-route to Cape Tribulation today for a light lunch, my choice Fisherman's Soup the menu description of Pernod,Rouille,Croutons & Emmental Cheese was just too irresistible and...from the first mouthful to the last it was absolutely delicious, Heading south some hours later i stopped at Thornton"s again for a cucumber infused Hendricks Gin and Tonic and was tempted by their aptly named Argie-Bhaji consisting of Potato & Poblano Chill, pan fried and served like two huge onion Bhajis with lime & Dukkah with lashings of yogurt to put some chill into the chili. Takeaway desert to consume whilst writing this review consisted of in-house made lemon tart and three mini custard tarts that were sensational. If your travelling through the Daintree rain-forest and you are peckish this five star location and eatery will stun you with the beauty of the beach and Thornton's scrumptious inexpensive menu. I just wished i lived closer.More

Terrific spot, right on the water. They are licenced and do good cafe food. The outside tables are in a fabulous position. They do breakfast and lunch only.

Do not venture past the cape tribulation ferry if you wish for 7/11 donuts and smoggy streets... quite honestly, I wonder what you’re up north for if you wish for a holiday experience like that. To stop at CJ’s is nothing short of idyllic. Toasties...that are a dream to munch, Daintree tea that completes any tea obsessed human, and a view that’s unique to only this part of the world! Amazingly friendly staff, and a backdrop soundtrack of the coral sea, cicadas chirping, birds of every North Queensland variety you can imagine, and a longing hunger for more cape tribulation discoveries! 18/10 would recommend. Ensure this place is on your ‘life’s to do list’ 🥰🌴🐊More

What a great location, the food was alright but the female staff member was miserable and clearly did not want to be there or serve anyone.
