Friends took us here for a welcome dinner when we visited Sydney - as its their favourite restaurant locally. It's much larger inside than it looks from the street - wooden tables and chairs and a cheerful atmosphere. Staff were friendly and the service was good. The food was excellent - fresh ingredients, well cooked and nicely presented. It was... More

Having eaten here many times I am unsure whether or not it has changed hands as the quality of the food has gone down terribly. What was once fresh dishes seem to taste of stale oil and lack of care. There are many restaurants on King Street and unfortunately this has gone downhill.

We're looking for somewhere to eat on king st. And found Doytao Thai, we had no booking and they were able to fit 5 of us in without a booking even with what look liked to be a full house. We ordered entrees and mains. The entrees came out quite quick. Then meal shortly after. The meals were packed full... More

We have been coming to Doytao Thai in Newtown for years. It is always quick to get seated. The food is always delicious (The mains are generally on the sweeter side which I know some people don't enjoy). We took our toddler - they gave us plastic plates and cups for her. The food came quickly. We ordered money bags... More

We all ordered our own dish but should have shared as there are big servings of everything, chicken salad, hot basil stir fry (delicious and not to hot) and green chicken curry. All yummy. The spring rolls come out looking like long fingers in a glass but were good too. We sat near the front window and liked the open... More
