The seafood was not spectacular, but the quiet stop along the highway was nice. After greasy fish and chips, I wish I'd tried the pie shop on the same block of land instead. The service was prompt and facilities adequate for a roadside stop.

I travel to Sydney from Coffs Harbour regularly and when ever possible I call off at the Salty Dog. It's become a perfect stop for a late breakfast, lunch or Early tea. The menu is minimalist but certainly enough to fill and meet any taste bud. They cater well in the area of seafood, burgers or any other fare that... More

Called in for lunch on a biking trip with friends last weekend, after it had been recommended to us by friends. Beautiful natural spot off the highway, and plenty of settings for the considerable crowd already there to enjoy the live music. The menu was extensive, and very well-priced, and the staff were beaut. Our lunch was spoiled by the... More

Good parking off the highway opens up to a selection of outlets all together. A tram serves mainly pies etc., Converted cottage seems to cater for takeaway or picnic table seating, but the original Café has table service in a relaxed separate area. Famous for the fish meals and can highly recommend them.

Visit this place regularly - food reliably good sometimes great! Specials menu is one to watch this is where the creativity is ... room for improvement with the wine list but recommend you take the time to stop and give it a shot!

Have had breakfast before at Salty Dog and it was good but this trip we were driving past a bit later in the day so called in for lunch. Had half a dozen oysters to start with then had flathead and chips, the oysters were good but the flathead was just beautiful, so succulent and juicy, it was the nicest... More

We were traveling north after work on a Friday night and with the freeway bypassing many towns we wanted somewhere nice to eat without back tracking or heading off the highway. When we stopped we were pleasantly surprised. Nice carved tables with pleasant surrounds. Full selection of different fish and beer and wine as well. There were families and couples... More

Good place for a variety of Fish & Chips. Recommend taking a nice break in the undercover garden. There is also a nice little shop to spend time looking through interesting things. Easy parking and well worth a visit,
