About
Since 2001, Okra has blossomed from a local Camberwell gem to one of the greater Melbourne area’s premier dining destinations. Okra blends Thai, Malaysian, and Indonesian dishes into an irresistible Southeast Asian fusion menu with something for everyone. Every dish is expertly hand-prepared by head chef Michael Tiu, and while our recipes may span a continent away, our ingredients are sourced locally to guarantee fresh, crisp flavour in every dish. Dishes are generously portioned to allow them to be shared and can be paired with our delicious house steamed rice. Every dish is balanced and varied in flavour, texture, and aroma to help create an unforgettable and unique dining experience. Okra

We went with a group of 4, after the venue we had originally booked was mysteriously closed. The staff are friendly (with the exception of one waitress who scowled the whole time and was quite abrupt), and service was great with delivery of meals and...More

We chose Okra by mistake - their name was similar to a Japanese place we’d been to nearby. The food was disappointing. Pepper beef was...left on the plate. The other dishes were adequate. Ambiance was suburban cheap Asian. The staff were attentive- no issues there....More

Enjoyed an evening meal at Okra recently. As always, consistent food and consistent service. The duck san choy bao is always a favourite of mine as is the grilled chicken. Roti bread is always lightly and flakey. We will continue to visit Okra when we...More

We were expecting big things from Ocha, booked for our parents' golden wedding anniversary and came away very underwhelmed compared to our experience 5 years ago. Let's start with the positives. We were able to get a booking for 9 people 2 weeks prior (perhaps...More

Lovely restaurant. Attentive service and delicious meals. The tangy oysters are to die for. Another favourite is the Duck San Choi bao (yum). Every main meal I've tried (and there have been many) has delighted me.

We were somewhat disappointed with the food at Okra; we expected better. The salt and pepper squid was nicely served in a little basket and was tender enough but the chicken in pandan leaf totally lacked any flavour. For main courses, the Singapore chilli prawns...More

I have been to this restaurant a number of times and I walked away happy every single time. They have an interesting mix of dishes across Thai and Indonesian cuisine and their pricing is very reasonable. Do yourself a favor and try. I am sure...More
