Having lived in Spain, and Spanish restaurants not being common here, I was excited to try this one And I'm so glad I did First, the decoration, all over, you'll have nods to Spain, I got several good memories from my time there brought back...when seeing some posters actually, loved it They have 2 rooms inside, and a small patio also, with a mural of famous Spanish buildings Then the staff is welcoming, special mention to Dante who's extra nice And the last but not the least, the food & drinks indeed They have lots of options, aperitivos, tapas, raciones (mains), paellas (the house specialty), quesos (cheese), postres (desserts) including churros Lots of drink options too, especially wine, with sangria indeed, cocktails, and mocktails I personally had a naked mando (orgeat, fermented mandarin, lime, pineapple, and non alcoholic spiced rum) Along with a paella indeed, the paella de marisco (seafood, with local prawns, mussels, calamari and clams) It was all super good! Be it that you want to feel like traveling to Spain, or just gave a nice meal, you've found the right place! Highly recommended!More

This local Spanish restaurant serves a good range of food that tastes great. The staff are attentive and the spot is nice for catch up with friends or a meal with family.

We were warmly welcomed by hostess, Dante and seated in a prearranged quieter area. Dante answered all our food questions. Our dinner of shared plates was tasty, interesting, creative & varied. The service was efficient, helpful & friendly. I thoroughly recommend Tinto as a relaxed...and delicious dinner experience.More

My husband and I first dined here over 6 years ago (I think?) and loved the experience, so we re-booked last Friday night when we were back visiting Melbourne for a kid-free date night. We were delighted to find that the atmosphere, food, drinks, and...service were still top-notch! The food is divine - the patatas bravas, gambas al ajillo, and croquetas were a highlight - and we loved the cosy, relaxed feel of the restaurant. Staff were more than helpful and friendly, the wonderful bar manager even made me up a mocktail off-menu which was perfect. We can't wait to dine again, next time we are in Melbourne. A must visit if you like authentic Spanish food!More

Went twice to this restaurant. The service was good. Could be better upon receiving customers who hasn’t made a booking or early for the booking. Had to check in regularly yourself if you wanted to get seated so don’t expect to be called once the...table becomes available. However once seated service is good. The food is great! Not massive portions but great quality. Recommend the Wagyu steak and the king prawns. We also love the amazing view from the decking.More

Another suspicious tapas/“share plates” places. Wines and beverages are over-priced. Decor is interesting, music is subtle, and staff are friendly and helpful. We felt a bit underfed for the numerous dishes that we had. The servings were small. And for the price, expensive. That is...not to say that the quality or flavours were not good. Taste, presentation and overall quality is good. But we put this place in the “$$$$$” bracket.More

What a great slice of Spain in the heart of Hawthorn. The staff were fabulous and There was a great selection of tapas ( A+ especially for the salted codfish croquettes!. We enjoyed lovely cerviche and beans on a delicious manchego cheese custard. Also they...offer a wide range of Spanish as well as Australian wines and Sangria ( of course). On street parking is great too as it’s not in the very heart of busy Hawthorn. Definitely recommend them again.More

My sister and I enjoyed an early dinner (first sitting) here on the last Saturday pre-Christmas. The restaurant was busy, but not crowded. This is a big call but it was arguably the best tapas I’ve had outside of Madrid. The service was attentive and...friendly. The food came out in a timely way at the perfect temperature. It was delicious. A mix of standard times (patatas bravos, crocettas, meatballs) some with a twist along with interesting less standard seasonal dishes. There is a good wine list, interesting cocktails, and a charming ambience. I had been here for drinks at the bar before, and had wanted to return for a meal - but COVID. So glad I finally made it here for a meal. Will definitely be back. Thank you to all who looked after us yesterday for making it such an enjoyable experience, and bouquets to those in the kitchen.More

Excellent vibe, warm staff, knowledgeable. Well timed delivery of tasty food. Good ambience esp on a cold night. Online booking not smooth - said only time available was 5.30 but didn’t seem right. Maybe social distancing requirements.

I have eaten at Tinto several times and the food is consistently great along with great service. Staff are knowledgeable about the menu, helpful, friendly, patient and attentive. Last night was not exception and even more impressive as I had booked for the wrong night...and even though the restaurant was full, with no fuss they managed to find us a table averting a disaster!! Thank youMore

The food came out in a timely fashion and the waitresses were...helpful in advising what dishes to order. A pleasant evening all round.More
