About
Our premises has grown in the last 15 years from a quaint post office and general store (supplying Scotland Island and surrounding areas) to the bustling Waterfront Café, featuring the live music den; The Co-Op Club and also the evergreen space upstairs, aptly titled 'The Top Room'. We take great pride in our menu showcasing local produce direct from farmers markets, whilst the store and onsite bottle shop sells everything from homewares, fresh flowers, a vast array of grocery-needs plus beer, wine and spirits. Open 6.30am from Monday to Sunday; we’re loaded with friendly staff, gourmet food, beautiful signature coffee (roasted in conjunction with Coffee Brothers, Mona Vale) and a great ambience.

My family managed to get a late reservation on New Year’s Eve, we arrived and were shown to our table immediately. The menus were already set out on the table, while choosing our menu we ordered drinks from the bar which were delivered pretty quickly. Once the menus had been selected we placed our orders, we had been advised that the portion sizes are big so we ordered two antipasti and two main courses. The food was fresh and tasty and our group were all pleased with the presentation and service.
A down side was that all orders had to be placed at the bar and pre payed before being served.
All in all a very good meal in a nice setting

Took a brief stopover after a scenic walk around this beautiful inlet. Had limited time to eat before booked tables were occupied. Ordered a slice of delicious carrot cake which came with additional cream - slightly overboard. The staff were busy as was the place with staff moving tables around for social distancing for the next seating. The live band was playing mellow music in the background. Need to book next time to really appreciate the cuisine and ambience.

The lack of communication from staff spoilt what otherwise was a lovely lunch out with family in a great location. Firstly our entree arrived at the same time as the mains when we had asked for the entree to arrive before the mains. Secondly our coffees had just arrived when we were told we would have to leave as our table was booked for another group and that group had arrived. Before finishing our coffees the door behind us was opened by a member of staff with the group waiting to take our table and we had to leave with one of our group not getting to finish her drink. We were literally ushered out just after 90mins with not having been given any warning that we had limited time for our booking which probably explains why entree and main meal arrived at the same time. I will certainly rethink visiting this cafe again especially after the treatment we received and since at the time of booking there was no indication of a time limit on bookings.

Service was rubbish. Order your meals at the bar seemed a bit ridiculous given meals were $40 a main. Staff were rude. Food was average at best. Location was the only thing they had going for them. Had coffee and desert next door as we ran out of time and were kicked out.

Beautiful views and a shocking service.
went there for breakfast with friends on a Sunday morning.
Ordered food for 4 adults and one child and coffee.
food for 2 adults arrived first. 19min later 2 other adults food arrived. The child's food arrives 15min after that. Wrong coffee arrives after 25min. when asked the manager for help, he sends over the same wrong coffee, with some chocolate powder on it, cold !

We had a wonderful meal in the perfect location, the variety on the menu is amazing and the five of us all had different mains prawn linguine, ravioli, risotto, fish and chips and eye fillet all were beautifully prepared and full of flavour only a few chips left on my wife's plate. Lovely attentive staff made the evening for us. Our interstate visitors were suitably impressed.

We were looking forward to a relaxing lunch - how wrong we were. There is no table service and the wait staff are bordering on being rude and very unhelpful. You have to line up to order your food and drinks. If you byo you have to pay corkage, receive a number and wait at your table for your wine glasses to be delivered. Same with food. The tables are all joined and you virtually sit on top of the people at the table next to you. Won’t be rushing back.

Utterly obnoxious waiting staff refused to change poached eggs for scrambled. My girlfriend is pregnant and didn’t want to risk a runny yolk. Asked to speak to the manager and the answer was the meals are all premade so it’s not possible to swap the poached egg for scrambled. Seems rather strange that an egg would be precooked! Terrible experience. Won’t be going back.

I’ve visited this place number of times for breakfast, lunch & dinner. Just now I had breakfast there and I was disappointed by the service though. I asked if me and my girlfriend were able to be seated by the water to enjoy our breakfast at the time, considering the cafe was nearly empty and we were told we couldn’t as it was for 4 people only in case they come. We than moved to the balcony, but few minutes later we were asked if we are ok to move as some lady reserved this - they didn’t even have a clue she reserved this so we moved again.
The funny thing is next I see 2 ladies enjoying their coffees at the table that apparently is for a big party only while we had to squash eating our breakfast at a tiny table. On another table there was also 1 person seated also enjoying the coffee. So much so we were told we can’t seat there to have breakfast because it’s only 2 of us, but 1 person can just have a coffee there. I kinda understood to begin with but after they sat other people there just for a coffee made me put this comment up. Where is this lovely Italian person that used to work there? He was the best!!! This young people you have there have no clue of what CX means.

All the different meals were delicious. The Porcini Risotto is a particular favourite plus Caesar salad and seafood high on the fav list. Then there’s the deserte, don’t miss them! Crème Brûlée no words to describe how good it is!

We spent a sunny winter’s afternoon here soaking up the sparkling sunshine with a few delicious cocktails!
Great service, fab cocktails and phenomenal
Location were only outdone by the delicious salt and pepper squid! Up there with the best we’ve eaten!
Great service too!!!
However, we did have breakfast here on the Saturday and left slightly disappointed. Overcooked eggs and toast matched with undercooked haloumi left us a little disappointed. Although I admit that I could have spoken to the staff - but didn’t feel like adding negativity to what had been an otherwise great experience.
We’d like to come back and have dinner - I suspect it will be delicious!

Went here for lunch for my mother’s birthday- food was inedible. I had risotto that I couldn’t eat! My parents had lobster mornay, the lobster was tough and tasteless. When we complained it fell on deaf ears - won’t ever be back here!

We’ve been here many times with visitors from overseas and interstate but today’s experience was very disappointing. Menu had been savaged, prices had been significantly increased and the place was a untidy (I appreciate it looks like it’s been renovated). $39 for Fish and Chips plus a weekend surcharge - will not be back!

We had lunch at the cafe today, our food was simply delicious. Credit to the chef for providing us some flexibility to our menu choices. Everything we had was prepared meticulously and the flavours sensational. Well done, highly recommended.

Not a good experience despite beautiful day and lovely weather. Steak sandwich sounded delicious but very much underdone. I do like rare but not still mooing. Chips were good but $10 for an orange juice is right over the top.
