Service was pretty fast, I was seated and handed a menu and had my order taken within a few minutes. Single glasses of wine were a bit high priced, but I figured it would be worth it, and it was, smooth with nice flavour. The veal ragu was delicious, great sauce, tender meat, portion a bit small but I assume it costs them a lot of money to make something of this quality. The broccolini with the mild anchovy oil and a bit of chilli was a nice touch. What I don't appreciate is being offered still or sparkling water, getting a clear bottle with no label instead of a bottle of San Pellegrino, and being charged $5 for it. Anywhere else I've been in Sydney this is complimentary. I would have liked to have been notified before I was charged. I realise it's only $5, but it's distrustful. If operating costs require it, then add it into the cost of other dishes, don't assume customers expect to pay for an unlabelled bottle.

We order home delivered pizza from here all the time but this time decided to eat in and loved it. There is a new kids play area out the back which was a huge hit. Staff are friendly and quick. They offer traditional aperitivo at the bar. And food was of course delicious!

Found this restaurant on line and so happy we did. Great friendly service and beautiful food. We shared the stuffed zucchini flowers and Frito Misto. Then followed with Pizza and Tiramisu. Fresh and very tasty. We wouldn’t hesitate to return. A great new find.

Not impressed with the execution of their dishes. The rigatoni had a moderate amount of slow cooked veal ragu, which should have been great but it was just tough, chewy and flavourless. The potato and sausage pizza was really sparse with the toppings and they'd been thrown about so haphazardly that everything had to be rearranged by hand, made more difficult by the pizza having the worst slicing job I've ever seen, the biggest slice was a trapezoid and four times the size of the smallest slice.

We went in to pick up pizzas last night. I've been r here a few times and the service just gets better. Praveen and Pete were very helpful. Praveen greeted us politely and his customer service was excellent. He even remembered me from my previous visit. Thankyou again and the pizza was divine!!!

Authentic Italian pizza in an upbeat setting. A busy night but food came fast. Wait service was genuinely friendly and they attended to all our needs in good time.

They were getting slammed when we walked in last night - but after ordering service was quick, drinks cold and food delicious. Prosciutto & Burrata was a highlight.

Aperitivo has been my local pizza joint for more than a decade. It’s a large restaurant with two levels of indoor dining plus outdoor dining street-side and in a rear courtyard, so they were particularly well equipped to implement NSW Health’s current social distancing instructions and keep plenty of space between diners earlier in the week. Aperitivo also send out pizza delivering via platforms like UberEats, though you can ensure all your money goes into supporting your local guy (rather than a corporate giant) by talking a walk to pick up your pizza yourself (while we still can). If the (now gloved up) and talented Francesco Spataro doesn’t have your pizza ready when you arrive, keep your distance by pulling up outside with a Rosemary Negroni ($16), or a North Meets South ($17) that switches out the Cinzano Rosso for reposado tequila and bitters. You can also drink in support of Lombardy, the Italian region hardest hit by that country’s coronavirus outbreak, with the 2014 Tenuta Mazzolino Blanc Oltrepo Pavese ($73/bottle). It's an easy-drinking, elegant Chardonnay with a whisper of wood that's only really there if you look for it. While dishes like Fiori di Zucchina ($16) – zucchini flowers stuffed with fresh riotta dragged through a bright tomato coulis - aren’t going to be at their best inside steamy plastic, there are other entrees that should make the transition well. Mozzarella in Carrozza ($16) are deep-fried cheese and ‘ndjua sandwiches wrapped in pillowy soft battered bread. I reckon (once you’ve availed yourself of Aperitivo's on-counter hand sanitiser) you could gobble them down on the walk home. Salads, like the Insalata di Endive ($16), with creamy gorgonzola dolce, teamed with bitter Belgian endive, rocket, pear and a delicate honey dressing, will also travel well. I’m nuts about Spatoro’s hand-made pork sausage, and I’ve been trying to up my greens through this health crisis, so I hit up a pizza special involving pork sausage and Italian broccoli. Fiarielli & Salsiccia ($24) has the usual tasty, blistered base I’ve come to expect from all Italian pizza I eat, along with a sparing topping of wilted greens and fragrant and tasty pork sausage, bound by fior di latte mozzarella (creamy cow milk cheese). Fired in a ceramic container, the Crème Brulee ($12) might be out of reach until we’re allowed to eat out again. Aperitivo make a clever twist with little mounds of tart stewed rhubarb balanced on top of a slightly thicker burnt sugar top. With perfect vanilla custard, it’s something we can all look forward to cracking into once this crisis is over and done.

This is one of my favourite spots in Sydney. I love Italian food, from appetizers to pastas to pizzas to the wine. Here therevis all of that plus more on offer and it is all delicious. This is a wine bar & restaurant, dark & moody, fun & romantic. It is Italian food taken to new, modern heights. Dishes are beautifully presented & creative, ingredients & pasta are fresh, pizza is one of the best in Sydney. Lots of wines by the glass means you can try & learn at the same time. I always feel satisfied leaving here with a happy tummy & big grin.

When there are so many great places to pick from, next time I would walk on by. We were very disappointed in our night at Aperitivo. Whilst it certainly looks the part and has a great atmosphere, the portions were small and the food was pretty bland and boring not to mention expensive.

Traditional Neapolitan pizza is what you get (in several variations) and it is great and large. A group of 7 of us arrived fairly early (about 5:30-6:00 PM) so it was not packed but started to fill. We placed our orders (after some discussions) and awaited the arrival of food and wine (staff was very helpful with tips on the type of wine and the taste of the different ones while choosing). It came with a bit of delay, but was great all around and we all were happy with the selection. When the first bottle of wine was exhausted, we wanted to order another but had to wait for the waiter/waitress to even acknowledge us. One that did, told us to wait as they were busy. Yes, by that time it was getting busy and there were only 3 of them on the floor catering to an almost full restaurant, but that should not be an excuse. It spoils the otherwise very nice experience. Come early, leave early, otherwise be prepared to wait and be brushed off.

Aperitivo is our go-to restaurant for good food and wine in an easy atmosphere. Staff are always friendly and helpful, wine list extensive and whilst there is plenty for our carnivore friends there is also always plenty of choice for us vegetarians.

The manager said we have no tables with room for a pram and gave us a bar table and stools for dinner. After we sat down I pointed out empty tables. He answered that on a Saturday night it was a bit late to expect a table and they were booked. When we finished our meal they were still empty. His answer was “ I told you they are booked, stop bothering me “. The meal was lovely as was the waitress too. Shame about the manager and his inability to seat us comfortably. My husband had a sore back and he was most uncomfortable and luckily the baby didn’t wake because feeding her on a stool would have been difficult. Thank you to the chefs and waitress for a nice meal. No thanks to the unhelpful manager. Because of him I would not be comfortable coming back.

Dear Lisa, Thank you kindly for your love letter, but you failed to mention a few points. As you can imagine Saturday nights are busy and walking in at 7:30pm expecting me to give you a table that didn't exist was near impossible. I didn't discriminate you because you had a pram, I kindly told you from the moment you walked in that there were no tables available that would offer space to keep the baby and pram at your table. There are certain areas we can accommodate prams if said area was available, but this wasn't the case that night. This is also the first I've heard about your husbands bad back. As I explained the situation you kept persisting and asking for one of those so called free tables, that I told you were booked and awaiting people to arrive. You huffed and puffed and gave me attitude and then started asking every staff member you could find if you could have that table 'over there'. By this point I could sense your frustration with the situation and I myself was not particularly fond of your presence in my restaurant so I had told you what I have never said to anyone before and that was "you do not have to stay here" which was pretty much telling you that you could eat elsewhere, no one was forcing you to stay here and be uncomfortable. You hadn't booked and walked in and expected special treatment. You decided to stay, and I offered to join an extra bar table for you to make it more comfortable, but you immediately snapped and told me you don't want an extra table. You ordered and you ate and during this time you continued to pester my staff for a table. In regards to the one table that was empty when you left, it was actually being used when you arrived. The previous customers had finished before you left, but was also booked after them and not long after you left. Finally after settling the bill you decided to scream across the restaurant so everyone could hear you about the 'free table', your mistreatment and promise to write a bad review. After this I asked why you were acting like this and to leave me alone as I was so frustrated that you stayed just to abuse me. Btw as you left your own daughter apologised for your behaviour which is pretty sad since you should be setting the example. My advice to you in future when planning to dine out with a pram on Saturday night at 7:30pm would be to either phone ahead or book in advance and make people aware as would I.

Food was outstanding After been taken here for a surprise dinner the staff were lovely! EXCEPT one of the male waiters! When I asked for the fish of the day he slapped the menu in front of me and said it’s all here if you read it! To my disgust, I asked for the main waiter to return. I do not do rude people sorry! Aside from this the experience was lovely. The main waiter suggested the fish as it was a flat fish not thick like most! It truly was cooked to perfection so thank you! The wine suggestion from him was also on point. I wish I caught his name to relay to you for his thanks Overall thank you for such a nice dinning experience

Everything from the service to the food was amazing. The pizzas were to die for. Probably one of the best pizzas in Sydney to be honest. Can't forget to mention their notable wine list! Thank you!
