Fantastic view, nice food, good coffee, pleasant staff BUT...the staff need a lesson in serving their customers in a reasonable time. Yesterday morning, a friend and I met other friends for coffee and slice. The wait started when we stood for several minutes waiting to be seated (as the sign said), finally to be told that the sign only applied to meal times so find your own seat. Then we each ordered a coffee and a slice. We waited for at least half an hour and had to follow up on our order a couple of times. Staff were either too busy talking to each other or doing nothing. That said, the food was nice, the view was great and the staff were friendly. So, today, I met another couple of friends there. This time, it took about 20 minutes to get our coffee and slice and the order was not correct; two of the three coffees came out as regular when they should have been large. If you have plenty of time, this is a good place to enjoy morning tea and it’s only $7 for coffee and slice.

Our group of over 70 had booked the function, paying $350.00 for special service in the function room. The "Continental" Breakfast, served as a buffet, was mostly stale pastries. There was a small amount of fruit which didn't last the distance. I was lucky being on Table 2. Those on Tables 9 and 10 had no choice and insufficient food. Tea and coffee service was spasmodic. There was no food replacement when supplies ran low. We were surprised to be able to serve ourselves, as this would not appear to follow Covid guidelines. We were meant to be celebrating International Women's Day. Our speaker was the new Vice Chancellor and President of the University of the Sunshine Coast and we were embarrassed by the poor service. The venue was good for a formal occasion, but did not make up for the poor service and food.

Great checkin process now days and we were there on a busy night, so got a beeper while we waited for a table. The view is great, but the place is very noisy. Not suitable if you want to chat with your dinner guest.
Some of the food was good, like the barramundi, but I had the salmon with vegies and all the vegies were flavoured with wasabi. It is not a flavour which many people like (myself particularly) and it was not mentioned on the menu. If you are going to serve wasabi, you need to let people know on the menu so they can choose accordingly.

We dined here for my Dad’s birthday. The prices of the food were expensive and the quality of food was average at best. One serving of satay chicken kebab skewers were raw. The veges that come with the steak were very bland and no variety for $34!
Was very disappointing.

I booked a 6pm table weeks before our holiday on our first night and was so excited just eat out after the past year. We have a 4 year old but the room was so noisy with children. I wish I knew there was no outdoor area as I would not have booked. I wish I saw a past review about the prices too we paid $47 for 2 pizzas one was slop my magareta one was so bland and cold I was so upset. All 3 meals came out at different times. It set the tone for our holiday unfortunately. I know you get what you get at surf clubs but we can’t afford to waste money on investable food. The pluses we’re the staff and the kids meal came with a colouring set for my son.

A short walk from our accommodation so very convenient. The service was quick and the customer service was very pleasant. The menu was very typical of a Surf Club, RSL or local tavern but the food was pleasant and well priced.

Surf club serves up a deliciously tasty meal, a nice cold drink in an ideal spot. Everything you want a good surf club to offer. Will definitely stop by again.

We went for lunch as we hadnt been for a while. We ordered fish n chips and calamari. These meals are $15 each and does not include a salad, which is disappointing for a lunch special. We ordered a ceasar salad each for an extra $5. The salad was very average, hardly any dressing on it. Its hard to believe other pubs lunch specials are around the same money with a salad. The food also came in a bowl which we found difficult to eat out of. The renovations are very nice but it is noisy. The service was good.

Great family friendly dinning option. Staff were all really friendly. Although no reservations were available online, we arrived at 5:30 when then dining room opened and got a table. Food was served quickly, and was fresh and tasty - even the basic tomato kids pasta!

This was our second visit to Alex Head Surf Club for dinner. A friendly lady welcomed us and showed us to our table which overlooked the beach. Unfortunately when we came back from ordering our food and drinks, another family was seated at our table. We informed staff straight away but by this time the other family had left the table. After chasing down the family the staff member came back and informed us the family had snuck in without a reservation and had since left and was very apologetic. Despite how busy it was we did not have to wait too long for our food. We ordered the barramundi special, a pizza and a steak and all were very tasty. The service, food, view and short wait times were all very good. I would definitely come back.

Booked for 2 adults 2 kids. Helpful on the phone. Checking into the club was easy and facilitated by welcoming staff.
All the simple things are done very well here. Prompt attention from the floor manager, explained how things worked and we ordered our meals quickly from the kiosk, drinks from the bar.
Staff taking the orders were reassuringly efficient, confirming the order accurately. Meals were at the table very quickly and the quality of the food was outstanding. Exactly as ordered. All meals came at the same time, which again, an example of simple things done very well.
Plates were cleared quickly by vigilant young staff who were non-intrusive and well mannered.
Very clean facilities.
A great experience in how to do simple things well. Obviously a very good working culture here with quality management. Staff seemed very happy. Anyone who runs or manages a bistro or restaurant should come and see how things are done here. Highly recommended.

myself and my family dined at the alex surf club today ( bluff bar ) . our service was nothing less then outstanding . on our arrival we were greeted by a young security guard ( name unknown ) who was pleasant and very helpful , we were shown to our seats by another security guard ( Shane ) and he explained all the rules around COVID19 . We didn't ask for but got colouring books for our young children and also a cushion for my mother . well done Alex surf club your team is outstanding . I would highly recommend any families coming to the coast for a day to drop in and have a beer or a meal and enjoy the wonderful view and staff . well done again guys and gals keep up the wonderful work .

Excellent venue Food overpriced and poor quality. Paid $40 for Mussel Pot covered in tasteless tomato sauce that should have been half that price. Should have stuck with Roast of the day $15 that looked like what Grandma used to make

Maybe it was the head chefs night off as neither of our meals were anywhere near reviews we read here. I had the specials board of the night roast pork. Every item on the plate was luke warm and I wonder if it would have met food safety standards temperature test. My husband had fillet steak with chips and salad. Chips were not crisp and several stuck together. The salad had no tomato at all and was topped with a quinoa concoction and drowned in an astringent dressing making it an inedible oily mess. We dined here in August last year and gave it 4 out of 5. Lucky for a score of 2 based on tonight. Something has changed and not for the better.

We’re only from Brisbane but we always support the local community whenever we have a holiday - We went to the Alexander Headlands Surf Club for dinner on a Tuesday evening and I’m so sorry but the food was terrible. My partner ordered the barramundi and it was completely burnt to crisp top and bottom. I had the prawn and chorizo linguine and I reckon there was 2 cups of oil in the bottom of my bowl. Our adult daughters dishes were much the same. Maybe the locals know what to order but as a visitor we won’t be back and neither would we recommend it. Sadly.
