We stopped at this place for a meal . The board outside said new management and the board advertised food. When we got it we where told there is no food . A waste of time and totally misleading. We left

What a crying shame this pair have taken over The Poachers. 1/5 is too generous. Pub was EMPTY on Sat afternoon - should have taken the hint. Simple pub grub took 40+ minutes to arrive. When my elderly grandmother asked what was taking so long - seen as we were the ONLY table, manager VERY rude and dismissive. Food arrived... More

Severe language barrier with the staff, four pub meals took an hour to arrive, one meal cold and another two did not arrive with the sides which were stated on the menu. When taking this up with Mike the manager he became aggressive and extremely confrontational. He showed a complete lack of professionalism and respect towards the customers.

A group of us booked for a post Christmas get together and we were offered the option of a buffet which we had. The buffet was a mix of hot Thai and cold English with a good choice for all tastes. It was really lovely and very good value for money. There is a great atmosphere here, the staff are... More

Having recently re-opened, The Poachers is well worth a visit. Both English and Thai cuisine on offer. We went between Christmas and New Year, food was good, freshly cooked, staff are really friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable, good atmosphere. Will defo be going again.

I'm quite lost as to how to describe the Poachers Arms... Called for drinks but wasn't sure it was open at first as not much sign of life. Inside was either very cluttered with plates, dolls, plants, trinkets etc. or full of charm depending on your point of view... Gentleman that served us was very friendly but then disappeared never... We were there to celebrate my parents golden wedding. The menu was extremely limited (only 3 mains as the 4th was unavailable). The table had been booked a couple of months in advance as ourselves and my brothers family were travelling from London for the meal. Knowing the area and generally how busy Hope is at this time of year... More

The setting in the conservatory was very nice, the rest of the experience was dire. The menus is so basic it is totally unbelievable. The were 4 items on the main course but 1 was unavailable. The soup (pea & ham) looked like a tin of peas with lumps of ham in it was so thick it stayed heaped on... More
