Trying to find pub or restaurant actually open on a Monday for food is becoming more difficult and the first pub we saw in Burnham didn't open on Mondays until late afternoon. The Ship Inn was open and we were made very welcome. They offered a good selection of food at varying prices. My wife chose the chicken and chorizo... More

We have heard very mixed reviews about the ship inn so thought try ourselves. First impression was good, but waitress seemed not happy we asking for a table, not even a hello or welcome??? But thought she must be having bad day and so took to our seats. Had to wait almost 15mins until asked what we'd like to drink.... More

Whilst staying in Burnham on Crouch over this Easter weekend we had a Good Friday evening meal in the Ship Inn, only fish on the menu being Good Friday but excellent choices, we hadn't booked but the friendly staff found us a table, food was great, service was really good, would strongly recommend

We visited for something to eat before our trip to the cinema. The staff were very helpful and polite, the place was clean, not with sticky tables like some pubs!! The food was great, if a little pricey, but all our plates were empty at the end, so worth it in my book! Situated at the other end or the... More

Ate here tonight, which was 'fish friday' special. Four of us had fish dishes and two had steak every dish was delightful including starters and desserts. Our servers were attentive without bring intrusive. This was our second visit, the first being a Sunday lunch a couple of months ago which was also lovely. My son has recently moved to the... More

Great location, inside is very well presented with a good atmosphere. The staff were welcoming, very knowledgeable about the menu and efficient. We chose from the fixed price Sunday menu. The food was excellent quality my only improvement would be to have gravy with the roast instead of the jus as the Yorkshire pudding was a little dry. The crumble... More

The chips were cold but this was addressed immediately, definitely somewhere that is volume more than quality. The pub itself was quite chilly as well but it is an old building.

I've been here a few times. I've eaten in the restaurant which is very nice, although be prepared to spend a bit of money in here. The food is very well prepared and presented and there's a good range with new things to try. I enjoy a drink in the bar (look out for Happy Hour when cocktails are half... More
