Home cooked food and scones to die for. Very good service, well spaced tables and lovely decor. Nothing too much trouble to staff and food home-cooked by the owner. Prices - very reasonable - on the High Street so easily accesible

What a lovely find for lunch today! We went here because it was rated highly on Tripadvisor. Long list of soups and a big jam menu. We had the Cullen skink and a scone. Absolutely delicious and very moreish. We’ll be back to try other...things on the menu. Reasonably priced too.More
The only place I have ever been that offers a jam menu, so you can pick exactly the right scone/ jam combination. And the scones are a definite must. A range of delicious soups is on offer, with plenty of veggie/ vegan options. All served...with a choice of soda bread, scone etc. Love the quirky salt and pepper sets and the mismatched bone china used to serve scrumptious homemade food. The staff are unfailingly friendly and helpful. Ideally situated between town and harbour, so easy to find. Look out for the scone of the day. Favourite so far is rhubarb and ginger. Oh my.More
everything home cooked and baking to die for - a must. Good old fashioned tea room as tea rooms used to be but well worth having a meal here.
We were wanting tea and scones and found just what we were looking for. I had a fruit scone with strawberry jam, S had a rhubarb scone with ginger jam, and they were both delicious with our earl grey tea!
We went with the 6 of us to Cool Gourmet. We had a couple of sandwiches, a couple of chicken liver pâtés, a soup and a scone. Friendly service and all good quality. Why 3 stars? Well, despite being nice, the whole vibe is very...much how cooked food. Nothing wrong with that, but not necessarily a reason to go out of your way to eat.More
Absolutely lovely waitress however totally shocked when 2 lasagne and 2 soft drinks cost £31:00! There were no prices displayed and honestly expected to pay about £24:00. When questioned via e mail was told it included garlic bread (2 cheap shop bought slices) and a...side salad. Salad was a garnish a very small amount of finely chopped basic items.More
Popped in here after a walk to the castle and it was perfect. Lovely surroundings, very clean. Great food. Sandwiches had loads of filling and cakes were totally delicious. Staff were ace too. Definitely recommend.
Could not fault the Cullen Skink and the Spicy Butternut Squash soups. Both accompanied by warm cheese scones. We opted for the 'half bowl', which was enough for us. Murphy's Law, that you can go for months having basic, tasteless cheese scones. Then two days...in a row, treated to very tasty, really cheesy, cheese scones. Thank you, Cool Gourmet.More
What a find! It was a bank holiday in Scotland, and every place was booked solid, and my family was getting hangry. Thankfully, we found this wonderful place w/ the BEST scones and cakes, and a huge selection of hot soups to warm us up...on a chilly day. It was one of the best meals we had while in Scotland. AND, when my son left his not inexpensive watch there, they called US to tell us they had it, and have been unbelievably cooperative about shipping it to us in the States. Wonderful people, wonderful food!More
Absolutely delicious breakfast! Wonderful fruit scone, breakfast sandwich, and scrambled eggs and toast! Driving to Edinburgh and stopped along the way. Perfect sized town, found parking along the street, and grabbed the last table. Can see why it was so busy. Small town feel here,...staff so warm and friendly. Great coffee and hot chocolate. Wish my hometown had this kind of place!More
What can I say it was wonderful, from the beautiful sandwiches to the sausage rolls, Quiches, roast Chicken platter and very fine cake selection - every single thing home made (the sausage rolls were still hot when we got them). Absolutely beautiful. Thank you so...much Cool GourmetMore
I'll be honest, when I looked at the menu I wasn't particularly excited, but my wife and I were looking for somewhere to hide from the rain. However my soup (French Onion) was delicious. They had a wide range of soup options, my wife had...a different (cauliflower & blue cheese) and she loved hers too. The staff were also super friendly. I would say my latte wasn't the best but it was with oat milk which can be tricky, my wife is very fussy with her coffee and thought her cappuccino was quite nice.More
A lovely dog friendly cafe, very nice staff, lovely Lasagne. Cakes and scones home made. Would highly recommend a visit, with or without a four legged friend. Closed on Tuesdays
Visited for lunch with my mother and daughter. We had a selection of meals and beverages which were all nice. My mum liked how her tea was presented in a china cup and ornate tea pot. Friendly service and reasonably priced.
