This beautiful little restaurant tucked away in Grassy, King Island was a complete gem. The atmosphere was perfect, the food absolutely delicious and the hosts charming. A short description was given before each course and the serves were generous, showcasing some of the Islands local...produce. I would put it up against some of Melbourne's top restaurants!More

After coming to King Island on a surf trip in the middle of winter and braving the icy waters, our team of 6 were in need of a warm venue, welcoming faces, and above all else, a great feed. The Wild Harvest restaurant provided all...of the above and some. The venue was literally built by the owner/chef and had a spectacular open fire and stone fireplace that gently warmed the room. Our first impressions were the restaurant was extremely clean and had a great feel. The small but highly efficient team of staff were friendly and happy to share their knowledge of things to do on the Island. We had a 5 course meal that would leave the fussiest of critics wanting more. The meals of Crayfish, Abalone, Lamb Shank, Eye Fillet, & Panna Cotta were all top class. The highlight was the King Island Eye Fillet. We cut through it like a hot knife in butter. It was easily one of the best steaks l have eaten. We complimented our meals with a few bottles of red from the extensive wines on selection that were all reasonably priced. Overall, a great experience that l would encourage others to try. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐More

On a freezing Winter’s night we were welcomed by a crackling log fire and our delightful hosts, Ian and Lucinda. Their philosophy is “ local and sustainable “ - starting with the restaurant itself. It had been built using local recycled timbers and stone. We...went for the Saturday night degustation menu- a delightful showcase of local meat and seafood cooked creatively by Ian. At the start of each course, he came and explained how local produce was used in each dish right down to the garnishes. We stared with a generous serve of crayfish garnished with local watercress, followed by abalone with local kelp. I’m not normally an abalone fan, but this was delicious! We then moved on to a dorper lamb cutlet with saltbush, then famed King Island beef, served with vegetables- including marinated carrots infused with citrus and spices Dessert was a creamy pannacotta- showcasing local dairy produce. There was a good wine list with plenty of choice by bottle or glass This gem of a place is well worth the drive from Currie and you definitely won’t leave hungry!More

Great location over looking Grassy Harbour situated in a beautifully re-purposed building which has been tastefully decorated. Meet and greet was done by our host and the chef himself. Very interesting use of local produce which was exceptionally prepared and presented. I have experienced these...ingredients numerous times but never a cleverly as on this occasion. Fresh crayfish, abalone, beef and local vegetables all consumed with some local beers and wine. This was a special event function for me arranged by my wife and it surely didn't disappoint. Job well done Ian, an forgettable evening shared with friends. I recommend dining at Wild Harvest, Grassy.More

We found this beautiful restaurant by chance, the view took our breaths away. The food was something else. I've eaten at quite fancy restaurants around the world. The food served on our night is the best we've had so far. The lovely staff were intriguing...with their stories also. If I could rate more stars I would.More

Wild Harvest is a very unique restaurant built by it’s owners Ian and Lucinder. So much character with a magnificent open fire. The food was absolutely delicious, cooked with passion and served by with a big smile. The food would compare with any classy restaurant...in Sydney. The desserts were extraordinary. I had crème brûlée which was silky smooth - quite amazing actually Highly recommended for groups.More

This restaurant is in a great spot on the top of a hill in Grassy looking out over the port and Bass Strait. Wallabies were roaming around outside. We dined here on a Thursday evening. Menù was not large but everything on it looked appealing....Choice from three entrees, four mains and three desserts. For entrees we had the fresh steamed shredded crayfish served with the shell and a seafood sauce along with the Bass Strait scallops poached in the shell with a ginger glaze sauce. Mains we both had the King Island eye fillet with local vegetables and beef jus. All three dishes were delicious and the fillet was cooked as ordered. Dessert, we shared a panacotta with berries that was also very tasty and appropriately wobbly. Wine list had a reasonable selection of mainly Tasmanian and South Australian wines at reasonable prices. What we thought was quite innovative was that one of the rooms off the main dining room had been turned into a wine cellar and you were invited in to select your own bottle. Our waitress was very friendly and informative. Unfortunately we were unable to reserve a table for another night. Definitely recommended.More
