Great food terrific local and imported wines. Ian cooks up beautiful dishes from the sea and the local turf.
This food is worth flying in for. I will be going as often as I can fill the plane with people.
We ate here as a group of 12 on three occasions and each time the food, the service, the ambience and the enjoyment were superb. The flavour was perfectly balanced in each dish and the freshness shone through.
The 6 course meal was amazing, every meal was explained and tasted amazing. All fresh and alot of local produce used.
Walk in Cellar very impressive. Service and staff very friendly, top service.
And the view out to Bass Strait speaks for itself.
Its a...must, if you go the King Island.More
We were in Grassy for 3 nights and had dinner included in our stay. Every dinner was winner but the degustation on the last night was the standout. Ian knows what he is doing! Views from the restaurant are stunning, as good as the food...and the walk in wine cellar has some treasures. Service was great. Friendly, efficient and personable.
Any of the group would jump at the chance to dine here again!More
We were lucky enough to stay here and eat here and trip around daily with Lucinda and Helen, for three nights.
Simply Brilliant experience.
We were shown all the special places, the food was absolutely amazing,
A picnic lunch, was a fresh crayfish, panna cotta...for dessert and wine as well
Degustation dinner simply amazing again
Cannot recommend this trip with the brilliant friendly staff, service, food enough
If you're visiting King Island and want to experience absolute fine dining - equivalent to anything in a capital city - then make sure you book a table at Wild Harvest at Grassy.
Our first 'dining' experience was actually on their 4WD full day tour...of southern King Island where Ian and Lucinda prepared an outdoor gourmet lunch of crayfish (lobster) and salad. Totally unexpected as we thought the 'lunch included' might be some tasty sandwiches. It was absolutely delicious and so beautifully prepared.
Our group had booked the dugustation dinner in advance at Wild Harvest. Six courses all fully explained in detail by Ian and then presented by Lucinda. None of us expected such fine dining on KI. Local fresh produce featured as KI is renowned for it's beef, cheese and seafood.
The meal was so special we asked if we could book for lunch the next day before catching our flight back to Hobart at 5pm. Fortunately there was still one vacant table so we indulged again. By this time Ian was treating us likely family and essentially prepared our main course as we wished. You couldn't ask for more personal service.
10 out 10.
Huge thanks to Ian and Lucinda.More
Dinner with a view. Amazing place in Grassy. Eclectic decor, wonderful wine cellar (you go in and choose ). So much care put into simple things like the vegetables to go with the excellent King Island roast beef. Lucinda and Ian are gracious hosts. Elegant...presentation, white table cloths, beautiful table ware. An emphasis on local produce and Tasmanian wine. A must if you visit King Island.More
It was an amazing experience to eat a degustation of the very best that King Island has to offer. The dinner itself is an opportunity to expand your taste bud horizons and try a range of different cuisines that are each delicious and unique. The...highlight of the night becomes your host and chef, Ian, who not only creates your exquisite meals but also informs you of the rich history of King Island throughout the night. He creates a warm and welcoming environment during dinner and is one of the loveliest people I've ever met. Dinner would also not be complete without the amazing view from the restaurant. While you eat you look out over the Islands cost and can see the vast forest and coasts that cover King Island, showing just how unique this Island is. The local wallaby's also showed their hospitality as they relaxed beside the restaurant and showed just how unique life at King Island is.More
