Wednesday 19 April: Tea for two! My friend and I were being treated to afternoon tea at the Heath Tea Rooms by a third friend and what a treat it turned out to be. The tea consisted of sandwiches (you were asked at the beginning if you wanted white or brown bread), a scone with strawberry jam and clotted cream,... More

I visited with a group of colleagues, there were 8 of us for afternoon tea, we were offered the sitting room for our tea as we were told that the tea room may be a bit cramped for us - the sitting room was not appropriate really for our group so we had to sit at the tables - cramped... More

Called in mid morning looking forward to visiting as it had been recommended by a friend. Approached the counter spoken to by a very off hand woman (think I was inconveniencing her) Walked out and took business elsewhere.

What a gem....freshly baked scones, best I have ever had. It's a small place, so I would imagine it gets really busy in summer.

My wife and I have just had afternoon tea at the Heath tearoom . We have had afternoon tea all over Yorkshire and in our opinion this has been our best experience yet.

Food and drinks lovely, especially the scones, hoice of music awful and intrusive if you are solo/its quiet. Earlier opening better for dog walkers - 10am too late, I go elsewhere now, think you are missing out

Dropped in for a bacon sandwich and a coffee. Perfectly good. However, a couple of points. Menu stated, at the bottom of the last page, that only cash or cheques accepted. What is a cheque? Come on, it's the 21st century! I enjoyed the bacon on croissant with cheese and my wife had the bacon on oven bottom. Mine £4.95... More

As I live near to heath cafe I have visited a few times, although I can only visited when the weather is fine due to no dogs allowed in the cafe. The food is lovely but I feel on the expensive side, and you cannot be in too much of a hurry as the service is quite slow. The area... More

Visited with my husband and really enjoyed the afternoon tea. We haven't been in that area for a while but will return. Excellent selection of sandwiches and cakes. Scones still warm.

Description
Located in the beautiful village of Heath, less than 2 miles from Wakefield City Centre and the Hepworth Museum. This picturesque 18th century cottage provides perfect surroundings for a quaint yet stylish English Tea Room. White linen table clothes offset the bright cotton napkins, both of which compliment the white bone china. You can choose from homemade soups, sandwiches, light lunches and cakes. Taylor's of Harrogate provide their Tea Room Blend to make the perfect cup of tea and the coffee served is made with freshly ground Columbian beans. In the summer there is seating in the pleasant cottage garden where you will be served to the same high standard of fayre as in the Tea Room; or you can simply sit and enjoy one of more than nine Yorkshire Dales ice cream flavours available. Whatever you choose you will not be disappointed. If after your visit, you feel the need to walk off the calories you can enjoy a stroll around the Common or go further afield to Bluebell woods.
