Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just around the corner from the historical park you will find this modern restaurant. Seating is spacious and the menu offers Thai and western dishes. The larb we had was very tasty and the fush (and chips) very fresh. For someone coming from Bangkok the...bill is amazingly cheap, but in keeping with the local price level.More

I have been to this restaurant many times and while I have enjoyed the food, the service lets the place down . This week I have eaten there twice and both times one of the dishes ordered did not arrive and staff had to be...spoken to . The dish then arrived after another 15-20 minutes. The staff are very pleasant and the restaurant clean just a pity about the service.More

So your visiting the charming provincial town of Phimai and looking for something good to eat and drink in a relaxing environment. Well Ida restaurant is the place to go. Phimai is well known for its Khmer Temple and history that can be traced back...hundreds of years. This provincial town has a charm all of its own, however, my impression is that it has yet to be invaded by hordes of foreign tourists. Ida is a mixture of retro & contemporary with Harley Davidson signs, glass and steel exterior walls, exposed London type brick and all tastefully done. The sort of place you can dress up or down for and not feel out of place either way. What I like is that it isn’t purely aimed at foreign clientele. You will find a healthy mix of locals and tourists. And the food......it’s great, this is based on many visits, not just the one experience. Personally I love Thai food and tend to stick to that. However, they also have fish and chips on the menu as well as spaghetti dishes etc etc. If I had to make a criticism then it would be that the staff can at times be a little distant. That may be put down to a slight reluctance/shyness to engage with a foreigner. It’s actually nice to be left alone to eat your food rather than someone hovering over you asking if everything is ok every five minutes. To summarise, good food, not over priced and well worth visiting. If it helps, it’s about 30 seconds walk away from the Paradise Hotel, enjoy !More

Ate here with a group of 5 friends. Atmosphere was good, nice setting. Food was really good. Problem was with the order, they forgot two meals and didnt even notice that our two friends didnt have anything to eat. We had to ask if the...meals were comming. Meanwhile we had finished our food. The staff were a bit young and needed more experience and to be more attentive. I would be happy to eat there again because was good. They also serve alcohol.More

Western style restaurant which gave hope of good Western food. Nice tongave a change from Thai occasionally. Alas, while the steak was good quality for Phimai, the medium-well done ordered Thai to Thai was swimming in a pool of blood. Attempts for additional cooking sadly...failed. I had spaghetti carbonara. Very bland. Daughter had 'fish and chips' from the frozen section at Macro. Dressings in abundance over all salads from the suoermarket. No parmesan or pecorino in the Caesar salad. Garlic bread on 2 in thick slices of slightly sweet white sandwich bread. A baguette with a crust and some colour from the local Tesco Lotus would have helped. I wish we had ordered Thai food that the table nect door was enjoying....I keep trying to get some good Westerm goodbin rural Thailand....I am a slow learner! Tjw young staff need some training and the blender exceeds the 90Db limit as conversation needs to stop during its use. The dog in great need of a wash a haircut that took up residence inside the establishment next to our table didn't help. The staff didn't attempt to remove the hapless hound so I guess he was part of the establishment. Good carpark wirh excellent street art. Nice facilities but don't think that the european beers and american motorcycle icons and trendy euro appearance are precursors for an enjoyable western food encounter. Price wise not worth it at present. If the srandard increases then OK. I wish them luck.More

Was there for lunch ... From outside it looks very fancy and attractive.... Inside also actually... Very urban style, modern, light (floor to ceiling windows) , spacious interior .... Wide and attractive selection of foods, all menu cards bilingual ..... Also very nice that each...menu item can be served in small/medium/large portions .... Prices very reasonable and quality of food excellent .... I had a medium portion friend rice with shrimps .... an additional plate with vegetables came with it .... One BIG room for improvement : the waiter .... I had a kind of Manuel/Fawlty Towers kind of waiter who still need to learn his first English ..... But this aside : Ida's is a very very nice place to eat ....More
