Visited the Ivy House as a group of four on what turned out to be the Quiz Night. We were asked if we wanted to participate or would prefer a table away from the hubbub. Opting for a table in a quieter position, we were then immediately helped to another table by the waitress, who carried our drinks. Nice, varied... More

Went for a meal with with 6 colleagues and the whole meal was spot on. Great choice in a stone flagged restaurant with enough ornaments and horse brasses to fill 3 markets. Good service, good menu and excellent food. Lovely place to chat and enjoy a relaxed meal and apparently very good accommodation. Definitely worth a visit

Have visited a number of times. The food is always good. Service this time was a little slow (having the waitress also acting as a quizmaster in the bar didn't help I suspect !) and an order was wrong - this was corrected without any problem but still meant one of our party waiting for the correct dish whilst everyone... A busy pub come restaurant with good beer and food. In need soon of some refurbishment. We initially were by an exit door and on a poor table but were moved on request to something more comfortable. Plenty of families and Chiltern walkers with dogs. Can be noisy.

Superb food, freshly prepared and served with a smile. I had a starter and a main meal and both were superb. The food was fresh, hot and exceptionally tasty. I would recommend the food here.

My first visit was with a friend who had been before. The lunch time menu was quite large plus specials. We both had the fish pie which was delicious and not heavy like in many places. The veggies with them were very well cooked and different to most other pubs. My apologies to the chef because I couldn't eat them... More
