Sweet little pub and we visited twice for drinks while we were staying in congleton. The first time we were served by a lovely girl, she didn't know what white zinfandel was but that's fine, nobody knows EVERY drink. We stayed for two drinks on this visit. However, on our second visit we were served by the lady that on... More

Last minute visit for my wife's birthday. Excellent food, friendly staff, cosy and a nice location. Will be coming again for sure..This place never disappoints and is an absolute safe house if taking friends. Never had a bad meal here. Thank you.

Weary travellers will find the plough inn an inviting , welcoming place, with friendly staff and lots of simple touches creating a homely ambience. The selection on the menu is perfect, neither too much nor too little, and we were torn between several options. The food was exquisite, cooked to perfection and incredibly flavoursome. The same could be added for... More

We visited The Plough on spec and found the staff pleasant and efficient. Fabulous beer battered fish and chunky chips with mushy peas, all extremely hot and equally hot gammon with 2 eggs, chips and garden peas. Generous portions. Plenty of choice on the menu. High chairs available for families with young children. The ladies washroom is smart with the... More

This is the second time I have been in 6 months and been disappointed with the food. Ordered steak rare was overcooked and tough. Peppercorn sauce salty and overpowering. Friend had seafood tagliatelle special, hardly any fish in it. Don't know if the chef has changed but the food has definitely decreased in quality unfortunately

Had a great time at the plough, would suggest the pork 3 way. Must be soon on its way to a Michelin star!!! The staff seemed to know the food very very well. They've just done it up so looks fantastic. Want to make a special mention to the young blond boy who served us, Nat I think his name... More

6 friends Visited on 17th December for a Christmas get together. I had turkey which came with 4 very tiny chanteray carrots and a similar number of tiny sprouts. There were 2 large potatoes on the plate. More veg & less potato would have been appreciates. We pre-ordered food & paid deposit. When the bill arrived we had not been... More

The best Christmas meal we've ever had! Food was amazing, service was great and all in a very relaxed atmosphere! They changed items in the set menu in order to ensure the children could eat with us - I would highly recommend!
