Cant review the food as we were turned away on a Sunday afternoon at 2:00pm after being told that they weren't serving anymore! The pub was busy inside but it was a fine afternoon and plenty of empty tables outside. The hostess couldn't even recommend an alternative. Thank goodness for Google; we went to The Brownlow Arms, less than 10... More

We first visited this country pub 6 months ago and can't stay away! Great food and friendly service. The landlady, Mary makes you feel very welcome, it's like sitting in her living room. On cold days the fire will be lit and the locals will always say hello as they stand around the bar sipping theirs pints of Robinsons ale.... More

We called in at random on a Monday night. It was a good choice!. Nice welcome, lovely home made food, the mixed grill is large and delicious, great portions. 3 courses and we left completely full, so much so my wife couldn't manage all the dessert. Only 1 moan to make, when we returned a couple of weeks later we... More

Yes! Please be aware that not all satnav's will find this off the beaten track establishment. Our's took us to the middle of nowhere. After a retrace and a reset we were able to locate the pub. The car park is on the opposite side of the road from the pub itself. It is a Robinson's pub and has their... More

Walked from our narrowboat (further than we thought!). They were v busy, but fitted us in. Two of us had fish and chips and I had gammon and chips, all of which were delicious and freshly cooked to order. Embarrassingly, my New Zealand brother in law asked the lovely landlady if we could get a lift back to the boat!!!... More

We went on Sunday evening after hearing so much good about this pub, we weren't disappointed. A lovely meal, I had the lasagne, salmon and the mixed grill were also ordered, a beautiful meal, very very reasonable and excellent staff. Will definitely go again.
