Food served Luke warm and had to be sent back and still awful when it arrived. Microwaved meat pie with overcomes limp vegetables. Very poor.

We found that the hotel had a good variety of food to chose from, including very nice Scottish fare. The food we ordered was lovely and based on just that we would eat there again. However, we found the service to be poor- we were left waiting to be seated because they forgot about us, forgot to bring us two... More

We had taken the Strathspey steam train and saw the patio when we stopped in Boat of Garten and thought we would go back for lunch. I had a nice Caesar salad and my husband had the fish and chips. You order and pay at the bar and they bring the food to your table.

The Boat has a fairly simple but certainly very tasty range of menu options. 2 adults and 2 kids got well treated by the staff. Wait time was perhaps a little longer than expected but the waitress took the time to come over and explain that it would be a few more minutes due to a bit of a rush.... More

We had been recommended by friends to come here, as the food was fantastic. Looked on the website and the pictures looked great. We booked the DB & B package. Looked at the 'Maket Menu' and were not impressed with the choices so asked for the A La Carte menu. This was a bit better but no better than an... More

It was a very tasty dinner and a lovely atmosphere. I had the salmon and my partner had a curry dish since it was curry night.

Our room was a bit smaller and more out dated than we expected. The bathtub was amazing though. Staff were friendly and helpful but when my boyfriend went downstairs to order 2 mojitos, they didn't know how to make them. He had to tell them how...they were great mojitos though! The bar area is cosy and quiet. Breakfast the next... More

Firstly the positive, yes just one! the starter of the wee ploughmans that was delicious and arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. It's all downhill from here. Our waitress had no knowledge of the beers and ales only that the Belhaven black was the Scottish equivalent of Guinness! Myself and wife were chatting and didn't realise the gap awaiting our... If you are looking for something that offers the type of things a "foodie" would enjoy its worth a visit. Good highland hospitality too.

We took the Speyside steam train to Boat of Garten and had an hour to kill. We sat outside as the sun popped out for a bit and it was very pleasant. We had a sharing platter, which was one of the best I've ever had. It included haggis pakora, chicken fillet strips and smoked salmon. The tradewinds beer was... More

Our utterly delicious food, from first thing in the morning to last thing at night, will melt on your tongue and always leave you wanting more. Our menus comprise contemporary interpretations of classic British dishes. Our Lunch and Dinner menus also feature daily Best of British specials. It almost goes without saying that we use fresh, local, seasonal produce as the norm.Breakfast offers you a range of cold dishes and freshly baked pastries from the larder. As well as a fully cooked Scottish breakfast, you can order anything from delicate smoked Scottish Haddock to meltingly beautiful Eggs Florentine.
