Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This hotel must have seen better days. We have been to lots of great old pubs, sadly this isn’t one of them. The main doors are boarded up, so access is through the smokers area, or around the back. Not a lot of atmosphere inside,...the bistro at the back has big windows to the grassed area but is cold and in need of a spruce up. We were going to an early small halls concert on a Sunday night, so options for dinner were slim nearby. Our entree of deep fried stuffed mushrooms, served with a salad were quite tasty. The mains portion sizes were huge and hot. The pasta dish was watery and lacked flavour.More

Called in Saturday night, half an hour before close of service. Steak, chicken and this beef salad all generous serves. Lovely meal and staff. Cold beer. Not the Ritz but perfect for a meal while traveling.

Went twice for a meal. Was summer and they had the back door open, there was an absolute plague of flies, which was off putting. They were crawling over everything, but it was hot and it looked as though the only way they could cool...the kitchen down was to have the door open. Hard to eat a meal when you have seen flies crawling over it! Ordered steak-first time with veg and chips, great serving size and steak was lovely, but veg were very overcooked, Next time, flies were the same, ordered steak, but this time with salad, Salad was soaked in sauce and had sliced olives throughout-too many to pick out and the sauce was way overpowering. Wish they would just do a plain old tossed salad, without olives and sauce-they should be optional extras. I really hope they address the door situation next summer-If the Health Dept. walked in and saw the fly plague, they could be in serious trouble.More

Second visit to Fredo Pub and once again served a generous delicious meal. Thanks guys, was thrilled to have 4 lamb cutlets on my plate and my husband loved your ribs. Friendly & hospitable staff. Totally recommend as a stopover as you head north or...south. Loved being able to park our van out the back for the night. Todd the publican is a legend. We will be back!More

My husband and I, free camped our Caravan out the back, in the beer garden. We had an evening meal which was huge and tasty. I ordered Scotch Fillet $24, My husband had the fish $18. Drinks schooner and Pink Piccolo $12. The staff from...serving in Bistro or serving drinks where very helpful and accommodating. We needed drinking water, which they kindly let us have some too. Thank you Fredo for your lovely small town atmosphere. Caution for people with vans etc. The road to get in has hugh potholes, so watch your can as you come in.More

A great stop off for a quick pub lunch, just off the freeway. Scotch fillet sandwich and Burger with works were excellent. Fresh quality ingredients, very generous size, cooked perfectly. Don’t let the appearance of the building fool you. Definitely worth a visit.

This hotel does a fabulous lunch at quite reasonable costs. Covid 19 regulations in place, so go there with confidence. If you are small eaters, you could easily share 1 meal.

Don’t let the outside appearance fool you, this is a great find. We were a bit nervous as the front is all locked up and it’s looks a bit rough. We found the entrance to one side and walked through a run down looking TAB...area to the bistro. The bistro area is not flash, but it’s bright and clean and the menu has all the favourites. We chose a schnitzel, scotch fillet and kids steak all of them were great portion size and fantastic price. The scotch fillet was excellent and even the kids steak was bigger and better quality than I have had as a main in higher priced restaurants. Would not hesitate to recommend for families or anybody looking for good value tasty meals.More

We met local family here while we were staying at Trial Bay Gaol and tbh the food here was better than any place we ate at in South West Rocks. Really great prices, huge portions and just tasty country meals at a laid back country...pub. The steak was ridiculously good!More

Travelling down towards Sydney we needed a stop-over and found this little gem in Frederickton right on the river. We were early before 6 pm on Saturday night and were served quickly. I selected grilled salmon which was beautiful with crispy vegetables and mashed potato....Very healthy! My husband had an equally nice hot Calamari salad. Will be back when next here.More
