We waited 45minutes for our drinks order. Food was sparse we left hungry. Very overpriced for what we received. No Vegetables with the $45 steak and a spoonful of sliced potatoes. The table adjacent to us had a serious incident when the gentleman’s chair broke...and he hit the floor quite hard on his back. The staff although concerned and apologetic later joked about it to other customers. We spent $400 and still had to pay $10 for parking. If your spending money on food, especially over a certain amount, you shouldn’t have to pay for parking, the fee should be deducted/refunded when settling your bill. Very disappointed and deflated.More

Went for family pre Christmas dinner. Didn't expect a Christmas meal. Ordered off the menu. Some of the group left hungry but my meal was wonderful. (Ribeye Steak). Staff brilliant. Venue outdated and smelly like mould or railway station amenities...yuck. It really was the smell...of the venue which put me off. We were charged $10 for parking at the gate which was a rip off. We were told $5 parking fee. Was supposed to get a voucher for further visits but that didn't happen either. We enjoyed ourselves only because of our group and the sound and light show (the most amazing thunder and lighting with waterfall off the roof). Won't be back in a hurry....the ancillary charges put us off....too expensive.$10 for an hour and a half and the smell.More

This is such an iconic place in Victoria and a place where I take all my overseas friends and visitors. From the green tranquility and vantage point of Mt Dandenong, this is the place to see Melbourne city and its skyscrapers . The vastness of...the sprawling landscape and suburbs complete the tourist experience. We breathe in the cool freshness of the air under the trees of the hills and take in the contrast. Only a short drive from my home, City contrast complements cool green contours of the Dandenongs. What a view from this resort-like place with coffee in the café!More

This was our second year attending for the Christmas in July Buffet lunch. We were lucky to have the same seat as the previous year which was right by the. window with amazing views. The atmosphere was very festive, the weather was cold and the...log fire was perfect. The staff were, as usual very friendly and helped set the 'Christmas' scene. We will definitely be going again next year!More

I don’t normally complain about places but… Just returned from very disappointing dinner experience at Skyhigh. Paid compulsory $10 entry and waited over 5 minutes to be seated, with staff standing around behind counter doing absolutely nothing, only one waitress seemed to be working inside...the restaurant seating area and one doing the bar but two others behind counter were literally standing around talking… walking past us at least 10 times. Once seated we waited for nearly half an hour for drinks or order to be taken, (we gave them until 7pm before we walked back out again!) Two minutes before the last five minute cut off, we were asked what we would like. We had to ask for drinks as we still had not been offered any! Then waited another 15 minutes for drinks and an hour for meals. I ordered prawn entree which the prawns were undercooked and had cucumber in the salsa which I hate that wasn’t stated in the menu. Pork belly entree was nice flavour but really really fatty. Only saving grace was hubbys lamb back strap, which he said was lovely, except that’s all that comes on the plate for $40... had to order veggies or anything else separately! Charged 10% surcharge because it’s Sunday. Still paid $120 for 2 entrees 1 main and two drinks. Were offered dessert but was not going to wait another hour for that. The waitress was lovely but she was the only one doing anything. There were only 30 people on the restaurant… NEED MORE STAFF! Very dirty floor and toilets were disgusting. Walls and floor both need a good wash! Extremely underwhelming experience. I’d suggest not going here and instead go to the other many great restaurants/Pubs/taverns such as the pig and whistle which we searched to go to as we were waiting to be served. Which I wished we now had gone to instead!More

We decided to visit sky-high Gardens as part of a quick stop on a Yarra Valley Day trip. Upon arrival, we paid $10 access to the carpark and received a map for the area. Set atop the hills overlooking the city of Melbourne, the function...centre, Cafe and Gardens cater to families looking to enjoy a picnic or a place for children to blow off some energy. Disappointingly, this stop was expensive for the quality of service and outlook. The cafe was busy, tired with no table service. The bathrooms were cramped and dirty. Because we paid over $40 for our meals, we were handed a free parking voucher redeemable on another visit. Our burgers were tasty, although the wait was long and not during a peak period. We decided against ordering a coffee as the line was too long. After eating, we decided to venture through the grounds. We were interested in trying the hedge maze a go but realised that was an additional cost -$8 per adult. After nearly paying $100 for food, soft drinks, weekend surcharge, and parking, we left. The little cafe at the entrance did have some food and soft drinks on offer but were too late to order a coffee as they were packing up. Overall, the cafe space needed a facelift and a good clean. It is very much a tourist trap with costs on costs added. The view was ok but not spectacular. I'm sure there are nicer views that don't cost as much! In hindsight, we should have eaten in one of the surrounding towns or wineries. It's definitely not on our return schedule and only good as a once off for a couple.More
