I'm a regular here now, weekly specials, Monday 2 mains for price of one I love. Highly recommend the Moroccan lamb, very tasty has green healthy stuff too! They even have great customer service, even the water taste s great, they filter it, rare to find a place that goes that extra mile. Popular, so can be busy best to book, call ahead.

Good….. and not so good

The staff were lovely and helpful. We ordered the chicken parmigiana and a large fish and chips. The chicken was well cooked and tasty, however the fish was not fresh and a bit tough, and I counted a total of 15 chips on the plate, so if this was the large sized portion, the smaller one would have been tiny. They had Emerson’s on tap so that was a bonus

Great visit

Called in for late lunch.got a table and instant service. Young British waitress was exceptional. She's friendly,attentive and helpful - couldn't fault her. I ordered the steak sandwich - this was honestly the best steak sandwich I've ever had. My husband even got food envy! The menu had lots of options i want to try and will definitely be back. Highly recommended. Thanks.

There's a reason it's cheap.

We ordered 3 steaks, all cooked differently but received 3 all the same. I asked the waitress who dumped them down on our table which was which and she said "nup.. all the same". Waitresses don't give a sh*t to get orders correct and we waited almost an hour for them to arrive. There's good value and there's cheap & nasty. Sandbar is definitely the latter.

Great Burger for Wgtn on plate

The burger they have created for VWOAP Burger competition is delicious and looks stylish on the board. Sticky and sweet pork belly, lettuce, tomato, pickled ginger, sweet 'n' sour pickles, cheddar, aioli, and thousand island dressing, in a Zadia's brioche bun, with Olympic coloured O-Rings and remoulade. The Sandbar is a sports bar, however it's good hearty food.

Fresh fish. Perfectly cooked and delicious 😋 We had the guest beer excellent choice with the fish and chips. Service was prompt and although they were fully booked, found us a table as we were eating early. Would definitely come back. Highly recommended.

Late Dinner

We went here quite late & were really impressed with our beef burgers. They were delicious & filling & extremely tasty! They had no problem making one gluten free. We did wonder about the coated fries so left them. This is an older establishment but should not be overlooked. Their pizzas looked really great & were on special on Tuesdays.

Great Little Spot

This is a very friendly little local bar and eatery. The staff are fabulous, the food is good and there is a good choice of NZ wines by the glass. The beer garden in summer would be lovely, but even in winter I really enjoyed Sandbar.

Stopped into watch the rugby on a Sunday afternoon. Great to see a all the staff happy, looked like they enjoyed being there.. also great service for a couple of drinks & hot wedges. Thanks guys we well be back

Totally enjoyed our meals here. Both had the pork belly and glad we made that choice. Staff were attentive and friendly. Enjoyed the whole vibe of the pub. Reasonably priced meal and drinks

Best steak house ever

Just an amazing spot with ambience , great staff and GREAT GOOD 😊 This place is Shook......Monday evenings are 2 for 1 ..buy 2 meals pay for 1 You may think the Food wud be under par for this price.....but NOT AT ALL HAD A SIRLOIN STEAK AND A CREAMY FISH DISH BOTH A ++++
