7:45 booking. Drinks eventually served 45 minutes later. And the drinks sat waiting to be served to us to the point we were going to them ourselves. Only one butcher In Penzance ? Apparently he did not arrive today so half the menu was missing....Even Tesco’s sell meat… Didn’t even have a Caesar salad. There’s slow service and then there’s Shutters. We thought the kitchen had shut down after waiting for the food… And then the fish of the day was not as advised. Slight difference between sea bream and lemon sole. But, to top it all, being told there were no mussels and then to see another table being served them an hour later. And we’re still sitting here. What else can go wrong… And if the car’s been locked in the car park because it has dragged on, that’s the icing on the cake…if they have any leftMore

We arrived windswept after a walk along the beach and over the causeway to the island. Our first visit here, we were made very welcome by the friendly team, each of them must have been hand picked for their professional approach. The spacious dining areas...are so relaxing, decor truly beautiful and the views stunning. We stayed for an unhurried 3 hours, staff chatted with us and made our 9 month old grandson at home, high chair at the ready with plenty of space for the buggy too. We managed 3 courses with cocktails to start and a cheeky post lunch tipple too. The menu was excellent and well balanced, offering quality before quantity in the number of dishes. Our food was freshly prepared, imaginatively presented and extremely good to eat. We highly reccommend and hope to return.More

We had an average visit here. The menu isn't particularly big and basic choices. Was also a very long wait when the pub was quite empty. The food was pretty good just not the most enjoyable experience.

Visited the property on this occasion just for drinks as a family group of 6 adults. The waiter was exceptionally attentive and appeared genuinely happy in his job. The drinks are a little more expensive than the local pubs but the service experience made it...worth every penny.More

Called in during a massive downpour on the off-chance we could warm up and shelter from the rain. It was very busy and we were greeted with a half hour wait. We returned 20 mins later, were squeezed into a lovely corner table and politely...warned the unexpected volume of customers would mean a delay in service. Richie our waiter was fun and friendly to all his customers- very entertaining during a clearly stressful shift with low staff numbers and high customer throughput. Tea and cake arrived quicker than we had anticipated, was yummy and the food and cocktails going to other tables looked super. We will return.More

I thought this restaurant was excellent. I wandered in early without a reservation and was seated at a fantastic table by the window with a beautiful view. I had the Hot Shells which was a huge plate of mussels, clams, scallops, prawns and crab claws,...and I added half a lobster. The food was really high quality. The garlic, white wine and herb flavours were delicious. I especially enjoyed the scallops. I had Sea Salt Fries too which were very good. I wasn't as impressed with the wine. I wanted to order something Cornish and got the Seyval Blanc from Polgoon. It was okay but really not very complex. The place gets a lot of natural light and looks very clean and fresh inside. The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. Highly recommend.More

New menu for the autumn is perfect for a light lunch. Exactly what you want on the menu, contemporary classics and old favourites. Cocktail menu too tough to choose from so have 3! Amazing friendly welcoming staff. Had written this place off as a local...with several bad experiences but now can’t imagine eating anywhere else. 15 stars.More

Visited in October and the place was busy and staff were very friendly. We sat in the beer garden at the back overlooking St Michael’s Mount. Pleased that we weren’t expected to buy food. Exceptional service in a great setting. Would visit again if in...the area!More

We literally could not believe the table chosen for us. I did mention it was my birthday but didn’t request the best table in the house which I think we did get there. We brought 4 dogs with us so the little window balcony was...perfect to tuck them out of the way. The staff was chatty, smiley and welcoming, showing a genuine interest that we would have a good time. The food was amazing, we had starters and mains, really well presented and delicious. The coffees were also really well made!More
