was recommended by guides and was full of local, low prices. you have the option to do the buffet or à la carte. we chose the first and we found ourselves very well as it offers a wide variety of vegetables (cooked and raw), pasta, rice, different types of meat and fish.

We landed in Pico shortly after noon and wanted some good food quickly. We found this place on Trip Advisor and stopped in. Great patio on the wharf with amazing views of Sao Roque. We both ordered the bacon cheese burger and it was delicious. Friendly service, but wasn’t sure about paying as after we finished eating it felt like should just go as no one batted an eye at us. We awkwardly sat around for about 20 minutes when it wasn’t busy at all while our server cleared the buffet that had been set up but never came over, so we got up and paid at the bar but it still didn’t feel inviting.

We went for dinner on the recommendation of the guesthouse owner. It is located in the port of Sao Roque. We ate well, both fish and meat. The products were local. The environment is a bit spartan, but it is a place more for locals than tourists. The service lacked warmth.

The worst service experienced on the island, I think the waitresses mistreat them or are simply fed up with the owners, they seemed like prisoners.
The food is good, but a 40-minute wait is absurd for dishes that look like they come from a roadside restaurant.
They don't pick up your dishes, nor do they bring you to leave the shells... do I continue? They look at you with a face like "are you still there?"
They do not accept Credit cards from outside Portugal, they do not even advertise it.
They only need a TOURISTS GO HOME sign

Nice view near the port but the rest does not follow.
Unfriendly waitress (no smile and language barrier)
When we ordered, we were told that 2 dishes were not available (cod with shrimp and classic cod) so we ordered the fish of the day and grilled squid and 2 glasses of white wine
Magic trick at the time of service, we are served fish and cod, explaining to us that squid is not available... The wait having been quite long, we take the dishes.
The white wine was sparkling for him….
Concerning the dishes, the fish of the day was good but the accompaniments tasteless (salad without sauce and boiled potato)
The cod must have regretted its arrival... overcooked fish bathed in poor quality oil with potatoes and onions.
Final score 45th…. we had to pay in cash for the machine not working (without being warned in advance)
If you stop here by accident, maybe grab some burgers, you will surely avoid the worst

Bad experience, we waited 1 hour to eat burgers while all the other customers (who arrived after us) were served. The waitress apologized several times and blamed the kitchen staff, but was still very hasty and rude from the start. Overall the food was ok and the cost was low, but I still wouldn't recommend it

Tried it and the place was rocking : many people had buffet lunch so we walked in. Food selection was very good with fresh salad, lasagna, fish and desserts. We paid 10 eur per person and it included water and coffee. We weee so satisfied that came again for lunch next day

We had a group of 6 walk in, you seat your self it wasn’t busy at 1930 on a Saturday. Staff was friendly and quick large menu the is in English and Portuguese. Every one got a starter a main dish and adult beverages and only spent 30€ great price meals and large portions. Great view and has parking right in front.

For some years now, the Clube Naval de S. Roque has been our meeting place, par excellence, at various times of the day/night.
This year we were welcomed with a fantastic tuna belly, with exemplary gastronomic explanations from the boss. Good continuation 😃.
PS: just a less good note: we hope you have already gotten rid of a certain rude and, above all, rude employee (you won't need any further references to identify him). The other young people always did a good job in welcoming us.

10/10 Would eat there again. Paulo (or Paul) was such an amazing server! He was so kind & helpful! food was so good. Big portions sizes for not a lot of euros! Was able to get a takeout box, if you do not know that. If I could add more stars, I DEFINETLEY would add more. And I'm not being sarcastic! Seriously, if you want happy tummies, this is the place to go. Obrigado, Clube Naval!

Top location on the harbor
Outstanding quality of the food. Simple tapas like black beans, to an extensive buffet. Everything is really authentic and aromatic.
I want to be able to cook like that too!
We've been there several times, it's our first choice on Pico.

Nice and very friendly service. We both had the burger. French fries were not very crispy. Food was okay.
My ecpectation was higher due to other reviews. Maybe therefore I was a little diaappointed. Also expected it to be lower in price.

Had a nice Sunday lunch/brunch. Indoor and outdoor seating. A beautiful view from every table. The restaurant is definitely family friendly. Wait staff very nice.
