I was told the cheese here was tasty by one of my mates. I do like my cheese platters and different beers, so this place was a must do on Bruny Island. First thing when arriving get a table & number so you can order...food . I opted for the tasting paddle of 4 beers for drinks. Stout wasn’t too heavy , sour was just right for sour taste, Saison was different and the pale Ale was delicious. For some food we ordered a couple of Farmers Platters @ $49 each & the sister in law thought it was expensive, but you would probably pay $69 for that in Margs or Denmark. It had a selection of 4 cheeses and we loved the old vintage cheese and day old cheese it was bloody delicious. Mustard with the wallaby was yummo & maybe 2 lots of bread would have put it up there with the best I’ve had. The curry relish I guess u call, it wasn’t to our taste buds. Wish I bought some cheese back to WA . PS the venue definitely requires more toilets ,some more seating outside and maybe move the water dispenser away from the large table, it was very annoying as you couldn’t sit back from the table in the 2 seats located to the side of the dispenser.More

I was the driver on the day and very surprised that there were no non alcoholic drinks available. I was offered (and accepted) a glass of tap water.

Don't waste your time. Rude staff, small variety. Once we parked, we went in and there was a sign that said to find a table before ordering. We saw an empty table and sat there. I took my kids to the bathroom whilst my husband...waited for us to decide what to order. During this time, one of the staff came to the table with another family, completely ignored my husband and put a "reserved" sign on the table. The other family then sat at our table. The staff member never even acknowledged that my husband was there. We promptly left and enjoyed a delicious lunch in Adventure Bay at the cruise building. I also wouldn't call it a cheese factory when compared to the beautiful Ashgrove factory which was a much more worthwhile visitMore

A very cute place with a fantastic setting with a fabulous array of products. There is ample parking, which is good, but only 2 unisex toilets. There are many French staff that work here and their system/processes need improvement. On the right side where there...is a blackboard displaying platters, all the staff were busy and ignored us. I queued up on the other side of the shop to order a platter, and the lady directed us back over the other side to order and pay. We chose a Farmers platter with wallaby and relishes. The same lady then saw that we were still being ignored so we paid on that side and waited quite some time for our platter which the same lady assembled for us?! The shop was full. Chaos! Fortunately we got in just before a tour group! They need to have clear communications and signage to separate the two divisions- and ensure staff are trained in customer service. People look to the left and queue to pay to the right - this needs a total setup change for this to work more efficiently! We ate our platter, which was very nice, at Adventure Bay.More

Extremely poor attitude and rudeness of staff. Over priced. Cater almost solely for those consuming alcohol - two non alcoholic beverages and no coffee or tea. Free water = 1 star😮 Rude French girl from toulouse. Couldn’t be bothered to know, find out, or ask...what the beers were she was serving. We have visited this facility many times over the years, taking tourists but will NEVER go there again or give a recommendation until the service, attitude, and prices improve dramatically. On the Apple Isle this is truly ROTTEN - Rip Off The Tourist ENvironment! Disgusted 🤮More

What an amazing spot in the trees. I was absolutely blown away by this whole experience. From sitting and eating and drinking outside under the trees, to being able to watch the cheese being produced. I had the recommended toastie and it was yummo. The...only downside was the parking, the place was very busy and trying to get in and out of the car park was a bit trikcyMore

What a pleasant looking venue, we ordered the warmed prosciutto wrapped camembert to be served with bread, the beer was great, however we never got our food & when we asked the chef what was happening he said it was 5 minutes away. We waited...for over half an hour and asked another staff member to see what was taking so long, they said it was very busy, they then realised they gave our food to someone else and instead of sorting things out, proceeded to give our money back?! We are on an island for a day trip, they not only waisted our time their handling of the situation leaves a lot to be desired. Bitterly disappointed.More

As a visitor to Tas I was keen to take my husband to Bruny Is Cheese as I had a wonderful experience 2 years ago. Unfortunately this cannot be said today. We got the large cheese platter and a large stout. $58. When the beer...was poured we commented that it had no head and would not be acceptable in most other places. There was not a hint of white foam and it did not even smear the glass. The young lass pouring the beer laughed and told us that Bruny Is much more relaxed and she "didn't drink it so didn't care!" When our cheese platter was delivered by a young man, we one again advised this beer was indeed extremely flat. Certainly not how it should be served. His only response was to ask us if he should check the gas lines. Very disappointing not to be offered another beer presented correctly or even another style of beer! I have since seen a similar review where the customers were not respected or treated appropriately by the staff at Bruny Cheese. The condiments on the platter were very tasty and complimented the cheese, meat and bread. (Incidentally I noted the menu board at the bar incorrectly spells meat as meet). However the bread was dry where it had been cut and left sitting in the air. The Cheeses were disappointing. I am sure I had much nicer Cheeses on my last visit a couple years ago. They seemed to be very well aged, i wondered if they were old stock needing to be turned over, and maybe they would do well I pasta but the soft cheese with oil and a sprinkle of chilli (as we had no explanation of the cheese platter I cannot identify it) I felt was a touch rubbery. We left unhappy at service and our platter with a good 75% remaining. I am sure they had previously a beautiful brie style cheese. Soft, gooey and delectable. That I did not see or get opportunity to taste. The smoked wallaby I thought was tasty but this certainly did not suit my husband who wonders why all the Bruny signage is to avoid wildlife and save the wallabies is just so they can be slaughtered to feed tourists? We purchased a couple small jars of mustard which we thought were very tasty but certainly felt they were also overpriced. All in all the visit was disappointing, therexwas no good customer service and we can't help but feel the tourist is vulnerable easy target for profits. I sent this review to the company by email last week and offered to chat further should they wish. However they could not even respond to that.More

I arrived Saturday morning, shortly after they opened. I asked if I could taste cheese. I was offered two hard cheeses and two soft, although another hard cheese was right in front of me. The staff seemed distracted and behind in setting up. I asked...if I was too early, but other people had already ordered a platter. I asked of there was coffee. No. He did point out the cheese room when I continued to ask questions. I then asked could I taste the extra hard cheese. I only wanted to buy a small piece and was offered the cheese I hadn't tasted. I asked if I could taste it first. Was given taste and bought a small cheese and said goodbye. Maybe it is is worth hiring extra staff who are happy to serve, make a coffee and answer questions without feeling like they are in the way. What if I were a food reviewed on a pop-in visit?More

Visited this venue as a group of friends on a Sunday around lunchtime. Amazing variety of soft and hard cheeses made from raw milk that you can taste. Staff were very knowledgeable and explained the differences between the cheeses very well. Some very interesting textures...and flavours. Walked away with 4 very nice cheeses to take home. Make sure you stop at this place while on Bruny Island. You won’t regret it.More

As a frequent local visitor to the Bruny Island Cheese Factory I was quite shocked to discover that they no longer serve coffee. Whilst I appreciate the intention to move away from being a cafe style eatery to a cellar door style place to showcase...your produce, I think this is an incredible missed opportunity. There’s nowhere to get coffee for miles on Bruny. And not everybody drinks alcohol! I had planned to stop in for coffee on my way in and lunch on my way out but ended up doing neither. I hope it ends up being the right business decision for you.More
