When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

After visiting the winery for a tasting last year, we wanted to return to sample their food. The setting is gorgeous, and it was a sunny winter's day so the views were magnificent. The staff were genuinely friendly and attentive. The menu had a great...selection and I was happy that I had to really consider what I felt like eating. We all enjoyed our meals, and of course our choice of wines complimented the food. A great way to spend our 1st lunch in the Yarra with great friends!More

We had lunch today at Trattoria D'Soumah. It is a beautiful setting with wonderful views over the vineyard. Lucy has assembled wonderful staff who are passionate about provide great service to patrons. I would also make particular attention to Aimee to really looked after us....The food is good and with your passion will continue to improve. One of the most important things is to be receptive to feedback from patrons which Lucy and her staff certain are. We would recommend dining here.More

A party of 6, we lunched outside, fortunately on a pleasant day. It was still chilly; some form of external heating would have been welcome. That aside, though, we had a very satisfying meal. the garlic bread was superb as a starter, and while the...menu sticks to a formula of pasta and pizza, there was sufficient variety to satisfy us all. A good range of wines by the glass, at reasonable prices. Service was professional yet friendly, and our main meals arrived together.More

Easter Monday just past, partner and l went to Soumah winery restaurant for lunch. Upon arrival, we were told there would be a 15% surcharge being a holiday. Thought 10% was the going rate for holidays. We chose the Antipasti Board to share, $38.00 Selection...of cured meats, olives, capsicum, shaved fennel, sundried tomatoes, three small pieces of octopus and one soft cheese in a tiny dish. But, you can choose a second cheese from a choice of three for an additional $15. And, you will choose a second cheese., now a pricey platter. Still feeling hungry, we decided to each have a serve of the Oven Roasted King Prawns, gremolata butter, nothing else on the plate, $22.00 each. Before ordering and upon asking, was told three prawns are on each plate. What came out on each plate were three prawns, but they had been sliced down the middle. So on my plate were three half prawns, and obviously on my partner's plate were the other three halves, $22.00 each plate. With the 15% surcharge, and with nothing else on the plate, $50.60 for three prawns....lol We shared three glasses of wine, $48.30, and a small bottle of sparkling water, $5.75 I did give a $15 tip, as a chat to a wait staff confirmed the tip would be passed on. AVOID this very greedy winery restaurant. Taking off the 15% holiday surcharge, the prices are still atrocious for what you order and will receive. $162.15 for two people. A visit to one of the many other wineries in the Yarra Valley would be a far more rewarding experience.More

As one of my favouite places in Australia, the Yarra Valley has so much to offer the palete. With some of the best wines anywhere and some amazing foodie delights you can barely take a wrong turn. For the local or regular visitor though some...of the offerings can perhaps seem a little too grand or tourist booking specialists. Soumah is a very welcome change for a more local and homely experience. And I use those words intentionally and positively. Save for the lovely hum of friendly Australian voices, and the vista of native flora at the end of the vineyard, you could be forgiven for believing you're enjoying an afternoon at a local's ristorante in central Italy. Enjoyed a very pleasant wine tasting on arrival, before being seated in the perfectly sized and wonderfully endowed dining area overlooking the vineyard. The friendly service throughout was perfect and the food was excellent - simple and delicious and served very promptly. The wines of course were also ideal. There may have been a fly doing the rounds at one point, but hardly a negative for me at least. After being recommended to it by another local winery I am certainly looking forward to doing it all again soon.More

This restaurant came up in a Google search. We had not heard about this place before, so we decided to give it a go. I think this place can't yet make up it's mind, whether they want to mix it with the Big Boys or...stay as a quirky little concern. There is a LOT of competition out there. We, the patrons have certain expectations, when we are spending good money. I would suggest that the cheap and nasty, little paper napkins, need to go! Even a cafe uses better quality napkins and if I am paying over $30.00 for a main course and in the $20's for an entree, I do expect cloth napkins. We had to ask for a second paper napkin for our second course. Our cutlery from the entrees, were also put aside to be re-used for our mains.....Once again, a cafe gives you fresh cutlery with each course! On the plus side, the wine we had was excellent. My Zucchini flowers were lovely. My husband's scallops were only a small round slice of scallop, on bland carrot puree, on the shell. 4 shells with a slice on each, which was a bit pitiful for the price of $22.00. My swordfish was a bit overcooked, probably because it was very thin sliced. Expected better for $36.00. My husband's spanner crab tagliatelle - well you had to try and spot the crab. Again, at $38.00, too pricey for the offering. I really liked my Affogato, My husband had Chocolate Torte. He said it was OK.More

There wasn't much atmosphere as we sat on (in) a porch enclosed by plastic drapes. We drank their 'single vineyard cab/sav' which was quite good. My scallops looked like they'd been halved and the accompanying carrot mash wasn't too tasty. My wife had zucchini flowers...and said they were excellent. My main (secondi) was spanner crab with tagliatelle which seemed store bought to me, although when I gave my wife a forkful she said it tasted freshly made. Her too thin swordfish was slightly overcooked. Wife then had a pudding of ice-cream, espresso and frangelico which she said was the highlight of her meal. My chocolate torte wasn't bad but ...More

Not even a hello to the group as customers who were happy to spend our money here. I wanted to leave this place as soon as he said this, however some members of our group just wanted to stay just for the convenience. Will not be back!!!
