Me and him went out for a nice meal last Saturday. We had booked beforehand which is probably advisable as it is popular. Service was good and there was a nice buzz about the place, not too noisy, just the right amount of background noise! Certainly didn't see any hoodlums! We shared a starter of Thai style prawns which was... More

This pub unfortunately caters to the elite "hoodlums" who feel they can behave in a very antisocial manner without any curbs on their behaviour. Their behaviour, which is "condoned" by the management of this establishment means that trying to go out for a quiet evening meal on a Friday evening and get decent service is almost impossible.

Well priced very tasty food. Great beer too. Superb views and walks from the pub. We had breakfast and dinner here, I can highly recommend the Swan Inn.

This is a really picturesque location, traditional pub, historic building. By a river. Seats outside both front and rear if pub. Good real ale selection, including Sharps of Cornwall. Nice wine; (we had the Chillean Merlot which was excellent). To eat we had: Roast beef very tender and cooked very well, just a little pink in the middle, decent Yorkshire... More

We walked to the pub and asked for food. We could understand that they had stopped serving for the afternoon but were disappointed that they didn't have any bar snacks or even nuts to keep us going. All day food would be better especially as there are no other places to eat nearby.

We were welcomed into the pub and had a couple of drinks that we took into the beer garden to the rear, it is secluded and relaxing with a couple chickens running free. We were seated with a view out along the garden from the extension, for a starter we had a roasted beetroot caramelised walnut with goats cheese start.... More

My husband and I visited The Swan on the 20th March. We were made feel very welcome by Daniel and his team. Unfortunately, we were too late to sample lunch. But, we did enjoy a couple of drinks and a chat with Daniel and a few locals. We will definitely be back to stay for a couple of nights and... More

We walked through the countryside from Burford to Swinbrook. I think we took the scenic route and may have added a few miles to our journey. We arrived early and hungry and enjoyed a lovely meal out in the garden behind we had steak with a lovely mix green vegetable and skinny chips as well as fish and chips with... More

There are tens of Cotswold pubs purporting to be 'gems', yet few are and many need to up their game. Equally, the number of highly priced, over-rated mediocre pubs are increasing annually. No warmth, no class and that's just the guests. The Swan is fantastic as are the sister pubs near Stow and Cirencester. Great food, friendly, warm staff and... More

Owned by one of the Mitford sisters, this treasure is absolutely wonderful. Frontage onto the river windrush in a superb location, whether just a drink, tea in the garden or a freshly prepared meal, this is a special treat. Booking essential for a meal as space limited
