We visited Wakefield recently- what a quaint and charming town - and had lunch at the Cafe Pot au Feu. This used to be the train station for the area and it is therefore, in a wonderful building with the extant tracks running beside the patio. Could not be more charming. The patio is lovely and provides a view of... More

Lovely restaurant with seasonal offerings from local vendors. Beautiful view of the Gatineau River from their outdoor patio. Always a treat!

Located right at the water front, has a nice cute terrace. Selection isn't too rich, but prices are moderate and a cuisine isn't bad at all.

This is one of my favourite restaurants to bring out of town guests to when I'm showcasing the best of Gatineau and beyond. The pot-au-feu restaurant in Wakefield is an re-assigned use of a charming old train station. The outdoor seating area overlooks the adjacent train tracks with the cutest little red water tower in sight. Just the other side... More

Not only is the location stunning, unique, and rustic, but the food is absolutely flawless. I love going for brunch and having their life changing eggs benedict. I also highly recommend their ice tea! If you are in Wakefield or Chelsea, YOU NEED TO EAT HERE.

We were all excited to go for supper and were hungry...we found the menu to be very limited ..we sat on the outside porch and the table wobbled extensively every time the waiter walked by. We had to hold on our water glasses..not very pleasant. I ordered the beef and there wasn't enough food in my plate for a 10yr... More

Charming location, fantastic service, choice between buffet and a la carte. The buffet was plentiful, good choices, good variety. The menu options were also delicious.

We recently stayed in Wakefield for a relaxing "staycation" and enjoyed and wonderful birthday dinner at Café Pot-Au-Feu. I was in touch with the owner who was very quick to respond, accommodated to all my requests and planned ahead for a DELICIOUS birthday cake for our celebration. The food was delicious, friendly service and comfortable atmosphere to enjoy our evening!

A short selection of some quebecois style food with some modern twists. Kudos to the chef here! Everything was very tasty and well portioned. Some tables offer a good view on the lake.
