We had a reception for my grandmothers funeral here on a glorious summers day in April. The food was well priced and very well presented, not boring options but great interesting choices available from a wide menu. Not only was a beautiful location for our family to say goodbye to someone we loved dearly but the staff especially Elle, Bevan... More

Antonio is a very talented chef and has brought a high level of cuisine to sunbury. If you have not tried this then get down there. This is more innovative flavoursome food than Tom Kerridge's 2 star restaurant at the hand and flower . Stone sea bass was excellent and the chocolate Brownie with peanuts is a star. Keep up... Absolutely delicious food. I had the hake which was divine and beautifully cooked. My mum had the lamb with mint and pesto which really complemented the flavour. Will definitely be coming back. Pub also has a beautiful garden out the back looking out onto the river

The location of pub is perfect especially this coming summer as they have fantastic outside space by the river. Service was good and the food were amazing which I didn't expect for a pub. My husband ordered stonebass and I had sirloin steak which was done to my liking. I would definitely visit again!

Lots of pubs claim to be on the river, but this is an absolute. Had a lovely lunch watching the river.

The barman / waiter was scruffy looking un smiling and generally looking like he had better places to be. It was a Monday lunchtime and he was the only one there clearly, they did not think it was going to be a sunny day. The Magpie was busy but not packed, a gentleman who I think was the manager was... Went for lunch with friends at the weekend and I could not wait to get out. I ordered a Quinoa with Asparagus salad followed by sea bass. My "salad" arrived with no sign at all of asparagus - just a few leaves sprinkled with quinoa and practically no dressing I could discern. My appalled companion jumped up and went to... More
