We dropped in for Sunday Lunch today and found the pub to be absolutely charming with a good atmosphere, buzzing with chatter and amiability. The furnishings and fittings were well chosen, the rustic exposed brickwork and beams and the open fire all came together to create a very attractive place where anyone would be happy to while away a cold... Just had a scrumptious chicken burger with a great salad and coleslaw. To be honest I'm not a bread fan so the bun was a little too much but other than that a great lunch and was compensated for the request of no chips with wonderful healthy options. Go give it a try, they're trying so why don't you.

Deciding our family needed some more frequent 'bonding' time, I planned a country walk, with the end point being the Nevill Bull to get fed and watered (beer'd!) We did the 4.5mile circular heritage trail, in the rain! (typically, the day before was glorious sun!) once we were suitably soggy at the end of the walk, we were welcomed into... More

We brought a party of nine to the restaurant for a 21st birthday. The food was excellent value for money, plenty of it and very nicely cooked. Staff are very friendly. A country gem.

We recently spent a pleasant evening at the Nevill Bull. The decor was lovely and fresh and the staff were very friendly. The food was excellent, I ordered a mushroom pasta dish and was extremely pleased with my choice. It was a little pricey, but worth it. I would definitely go there again!

We were really impressed with the way the pub has been re furbished and decided to have a birthday lunch for my son. We ordered two Ham Egg and Chips for my son and daughter. Both eggs on one plate were over cooked and the chips on both plates were dry even though they were beefy chips. As a result... More

It was the change in management that led us to revisit this pub. We were not disappointed. The food is of a good quality pub food such as scampi and chips etc, burger etc which is a novelty in itself these days. The pub and restaurant were extremely busy

A lovely setting and classic pub BUT : the service took ages for pub food. The garlic bread had an entire clove. As far as I am aware there are no vampires in Kent. The jacket potatoes were undercooked. Massive amount of cheese on the ploughman's but bread and chutney were uninspired. Beer was fresh and well pulled. Would we... More

Just went for mid afternoon lunch, but had burgers, really thick tasty burgers, with chips, coleslaw and salad, just about made it through the burger. Recently changed hands and had a refurb. Wow what a difference. Atmosphere is friendly and they make you very welcome.

A traditional country pub in the pretty village of Birling, just outside West Malling. All food ingredients are sourced and purchased by Andy. F Our chefs take great pride in preparing our dishes from scratch using only the finest ingredients. See our Website for the latest menu. We have 3 hand pumps for real ales and have been in The CAMRA Good Beer guide for the last two years. We have a separate dining room which can be used for Birthday Parties and other family occasions. Our large patio is perfect for al fresco dining in the warmer months. Music events take place throughout the year which will be advertised on our website and Facebook page. A family friendly pub where everyone will be made extremely welcome by Andy and Emma. Dogs are also welcome and fresh water is always available for them after that long walk!
