The location is super, on top of a hill. They have tables out in the lawn giving excellent 360 degree views upto bologna and beyond. It is a family run place popular, it seems, for its tigelle and crescentine. the prosciutto, mortadella, salami, cheeses, spreads,...pickles, to go with these are nice and the portions huge. we were so stuffed with these that we were barely able to taste the pasta, which was competent, this being emilia romagna. the deserts were good also and they put a bottle of limoncello on the table to end a great meal.More

Just wow! Reserved a table on the terrace for the evening meal. I wished I’d saved myself at lunch time because this was a never ending gastronomic experience. Firstly the service was lovely and informative. Next, the pasta was fresh and lovely, tagliatelle with Parma...and tortellini with sage and butter. Wonderful. The speciality was their homemade bread with lots of delicacies to go with (salami, Parma ham, baby mushrooms, peppers, artichoke ...I’m full just thinking of this)!! Then the stew, explosion of taste buds. They then brought wild cherry jam to mix with the remaining bread. My stomach complained, my taste buds argued the case. No wonder the place is full of locals. And the wine was from the vineyard 100m away and it worked so well. Don’t miss this place out on your visit!More

Everything we tried was delicious, the pasta is fresh and hand made, the steak is juicy and the wine selection is good too. Also very nice sweets. The view is amazing and the air is so clear, especially in the winter. At the end they...offered coffee and liquor on the house which was extra tasty and just what we needed for our trip back to Bologna. Will visit again if I can.More

Went here yesterday with my son, as our nearby hotel does not serve lunch. I normally avoid eateries “by the road”, but I should not have worried. Perfect little spot for a lighter or a heavier meal. They just kept bringing more and more food...and finally I lost track of what I had ordered and what was on the house. When I “complained” that it was a bit too much, the lady smiled back and gave me a simple reply: “it is Bologna”. No further explanation was needed. The place is also full of locals, so they must be doing something right. Fair prices too. Would come here again without a doubt.More

Friendly service, good parking but the food is very rustic. Ok if you want to just refuel, but not recommended.

This trattoria is located on the edge of the hills, overlooking the plain towards Bologna. As we had not booked, there wasn't any space available on the terrace, but we were put beside an open window overlooking the view, which was next best. The restaurant...specialises in "tigelle e crescentine" - the local bread based speciality. We ordered one of each and asked for one serving of cold meat and one of vegetables to go with it, and it was fantastic, along with a carafe of the house red. Spent a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The staff took the trouble to explain the speciality to us (otherwise we would just have played safe and ordered pasta) and were very friendly and helpful, despite how busy it was.More

We went here as part of of a tour package for lunch and the food was excellent. The lady who served us explained what each of the local dishes were and what was in them and all of the food was great. Excellent pasta, cured...meats and wild boar. Highly recommend.More

Brilliant food and local wine. I loved being in a quiet street in Bassano, under the trees in a warm evening. No mosquitoes either!

I love try the local and typical cuisine when we are abroad and this was exceptional. One dish that was quite unique was a "pesto:" of raw bacon. The view and the wine and the attentive owners made for a memorable late lunch.

My wife and I came to have dinner. We checked the website and read about seasonal dishes and local bread dishes. So we have a choice... Coming for dinner we did not get a menu. We were told the only possibility was a local bread...dinner. Well, a pitty but let's try. We had this kind of local dinner two days ago in an agriturismo nearby, which was a good experience. Now the experience was not so good. A small selection of cold meatcuts, some cheese, a small dish of vegetables and a small cup of something that was sold as pesto. To fill your bread with. Sorry but this did not feel like having dinner. And how is it possible that bigger groups got warm meat, salads and mortadella as well, since we had no choice? The pasta we had as a first course was much better.More

We went as part of an "Italian Food Days" Tour - which will get a separate review elsewhere. We had a banquet for our group of about 10- and both our guide and other TA reviewers make it clear that this is really authentic, typical...regional food- of particular note were the prosciutto and other cold meats, and the local breads - crescentine and tigelle. The pastas were also delicious. The trattoria is situated about 40 minutes out of town on a very scenic hillside with views back over the city in one direction and across picturesque rural scenes in the other. I imagine in mid summer the fields of sunflowers must be stunning!More

We visited this restaurant as recommendation of our B&B, who said we must have a traditional dish before leaving the area: tigelle or crescentine. Driving up to the restaurant was delightful, with gorgeous views. Our waiter was very helpful and encouraged us to begin with...the bread dishes and not order pasta or second course until afterwards (in case that would be too much food). Good advice, as we were stuffed by the time we finished the tigelle ( round flat bread that you slice apart and fill with meat, cheese etc) and cresentine (fried pieces of dough that are soft and you fold food into it). Loved the crescentine! With the bread was served a platter full of a variety of meats, cheeses, marinated vegetables, and spreads; later as a sort of dessert, chocolate and cherry marmalade. Wonderful and unique! A family business and owner gave us a shot of limencello as we were leaving.More
