Description
Welcome to the Queen Elizabeth, a community owned Traditional Village Inn and Restaurant in the heart of the beautiful and historic Worcestershire village of Elmley Castle. We offer a welcoming, comfortable hostelry in the great tradition of this recently renovated 16th century building. With a wide selection of real ales, ciders, and wines, whether you are looking for a quick drink with friends, a warming cup of coffee and pastries, a good value bar snack or a more formal meal to celebrate a special event, the Queen Elizabeth is the right place to come! We also offer a special welcome to the many walkers and cyclists who come to enjoy the wonderful scenery around Bredon Hill. Our name commemorates the unusual visit of Queen Elizabeth I to rural Elmley Castle in 1575. There was much excitement when she and her entourage arrived on 20th August to stay as guests of William Savage. It is not clear who stayed where but we like the story that the Queen stayed at the Inn!
