Nice Lunch in a Cosy Setting

We had lunch here our last day in Excideul and wish we had found it earlier so we could try the dinner. I had Camembert with Charcuterie and salad and my husband had jumbo shrimp. Nice, fresh food, good friends and a good Rose made...for an enjoyable lunch.More

Outside dining

Very friendly staff and great coffee... lovely large grande cremes! Small restaurant inside but not a huge amount of food on offer. Very strangely positioned toilet but very clean. Difficult to know when this restaurant is open and only does dinners Thursday Friday and Saturday....Ideal stop when attending the Thursday market on the same street and in the square above beside the church.More

Siimply great quality at VERY reasonable prices.

We stayed in the Dordogne for a week and found this little gem by accident when searching for the local church(where we were to attend a wedding).The foie gras and the duck were fantastic.The duck maigret simply grilled and served with duck fat chips and...green salad-YUM.It was so good,we returned a few days later and ate the same meal.Fresh,local produce at great prices.I wish I had a restaurant like this one close to my home in Australia.We sat under the trees for one meal and inside (due to weather)for the other meal.More

excellent lunch under the trees!

lovely outdoor spot in the center of Excideuil. It has taken me a while to get to this review as I visited the Cuisine du Marché last August. I had the "plat du jour"...filet mignon du porc avec frites...extremely good and reasonably priced!!! Bravo!

Excellent!!

Wonderful food in a lovely setting! Set 3 course menu was amazing for the price. The steak was the size of a dinner plate, the duck came on 2 huge skewers and the gambas were massive!!!! everything was fresh and very tasty. the chef came...out to see if everything was ok and really cared about his food. the waitress was very helpful and we got by in broken english and french. Nothing was to much trouble and everything was so wonderfully fresh, will be going straight back for our first meal out here when we return in October!More
