Our place is Family Run with fresh homemade gourmet meals. Pizzas, Burgers, Schnitzels, Yiros, Fries and Desserts. Using family recipes, local produce, healthy ingredients & a deep love of food! Creating from scratch meals be had Traditionally or Vegetarian, Vegan & or Gluten Free. We strive for a warm friendly place to have a meal & chill. We also have a quiet play area for the kids.

We arrived here around 1pm Mother’s Day without a booking and were easily seated. A table for 10. I have eaten here before and I knew it was a good cafe type meal. The girl serving was very friendly and took all our orders. Amongst the orders of burgers and hot dogs there were two veggie burgers and come the time for them to come out unfortunately these for some reason were forgotten. After a reminder and some apologies they were prepared. We’ll be back.

Generous toppings and well cooked.
Kebab also good.
Could be better organised but sure they will get better with constructive feedback.

Good menu,lots of tasty snacks and drinks and a nice park across the road to eat at. Would recommend to other travellers visiting the Adelaide Hills area.

Popped in on a weekday for a bit of lunch with teenage kids. Sat at a table inside & was shocked to see how filthy the table was. There was only one other table being used & staff didn’t seem very busy at all. We were greeted & they seemed friendly. The menu felt like it had a greasy film over it & had visible bits of food stuck to it, as did the table.
A bit of cleanliness would go a long way.
Didn’t try the food so unsure how it was.
We walked out & went elsewhere.

A female friend and I dropped in for a coffee and something to eat mid Saturday morning recently. On entering we were met by a television blaring with a children’s show. There was no effort made to turn it off/volume down so that we didn’t have to yell at each other. The place was generally untidy and with no food on display it was hard to tell what type of facility it was. I don’t mind the idea of seeing food being prepared in a kitchen but the layout almost forced its untidiness down your throat. Having read positive reviews about The Hub we decided to persist. We ordered coffees and looked on the menu for something to accompany it. We couldn’t find anything that looked interesting. The coffee was fine which we consumed in a corner as far away from the annoying television as we could find. The service was dreary as if it was too much effort to encourage us or offer ideas! We left feeling very flat and wondering what all the hype was all about. We would never go back. Later that day we stopped in at a wonderful cafe in Birdwood. The service was excellent, the decor interesting and the food delicious. Yikes!

I've tried a few things here since the new owners have taken over and I haven't been disappointed.
Their pizza is wonderful, the dough and toppings are on par with some of the best I've had, the burgers are big and well portioned, always get a heap of chips on your plate too!
They make a great coffee and are always friendly, ill definitely be making this a stop each time I come up through the Adelaide hills.

We have tried to support the new owners of this business. Yet the time has come to suggest that reheating items from frozen is unacceptable. Having a staff member who is overworked and unable to multitask. Staff members who are happy to argue with customers and then they hand over an incorrect order. Normally we accept at least one error without comment. However when I returned with overcooked items that were not ordered, you did not ask what I wanted. Instead you assumed cooking more of the missing items would sort things out. While the generousity is well meant, we did not need extra items and 3 larger items were cooked on the outside but cool on the inside. In the food industry, cooking food properly is all important. We also noticed the lack of cooling on a very hot night. It was 37 degrees and you did not think your customers or staff needed or warranted a fan or air conditioner. I hope you consider what I have said. Your business has potential. I love the new things you are doing, however you must improve on the basics. If the order is wrong, food undercooked or overcooked, no cooling, staff not trained or working well then people will stay away.

I'm still adjusting to life in the hills. Sometimes I forget that supermarkets and food shops don't stay open very late.
My usual haunt in Birdwood had closed 30 mins earlier as had the Foodland. I was resigned to my fate that I'd have to drive all the way to Tea Tree Gully to find anything open.
Driving through Gumeracha I saw the porch light and the open sign on. I said an internal "hooray!" and pulled a u-turn.
After some welcome conversation I was on my way with a takeaway schnitty, chips & salad, back home some 20 kms away.
To my surprise it was still hot and tasty and the quality salad hadn't wilted either. Thank you Hub. The option of last resort certainly wasn't a bad one.

The Hub is by far one of the finest eateries I've ever been in! I was visiting from the UK with a very sexy friend of mine when she suggested we stop by the Hub, and I'm glad she did! On that day I was treated to one of the finest veggie burgers I've ever eaten. Most places see vegetarians as a pain and put as little effort into their burgers as possible, but not these guys, it was a veritable taste sensation! So much so that we decided to visit again a couple of weeks later, this time I had a vegetarian pizza with chilli sauce, and man, here I was thinking the burgers were good! This was hands down the single greatest pizza I've ever eaten, and very, very filling! The lady behind the counter deserves a special shout out for being some warm and welcoming to this stranger from a foreign land. So if you're in the area I can't recommend the Hub highly enough. Hell, if you're not in the area I can't recommend them enough.

We had just ridden 75 kms to Gumeracha from Tanunda. We were staying in the magnificent Randells Mill B&B and they recommended The Hub take away. After a short walk we arrived to see a very vibrant modern shop. It was great to see some tables both outside and in. We would have been happy to sit outside but they also had 4 couches that were calling our tired legs. After a short wait we were eating the biggest burgers I had ever seen. We had chosen The Outback Burger which was very good. It had a massive amount of salad plus the great relish and dressing. We ordered chips as well, which were great but not needed. I plan to visit Gumeracha again just to have another burger. Most locals were ordering pizzas so I presume they must be good as well.

Now called the Hub. The owner discouraged us from ordering the more pricey dishes and recommended other meals at half the price. The Burgers were hard to finish, in fact i passed almost half to my son.

This Take Away is just starting up under new owners. They offer pizzas with good toppings however the bases are very poor. Their fish and chips are average however one of their Gourmet Burgers was considered delicious by one person in my household. Many people in Gumeracha are so happy to have a Take Away in Gumeracha again that they will rate this store too highly. We are hoping the new owners learn how to cook a decent pizza dough soon but we will not be buying another one from them.

Good food, friendly service and nice menu choices. We visit Gumeracha every year and this shop is always the place we head to for lunch with our friends. A great meet up spot :)
