Not the fastest service but it was very busy at the time we had our lunch there. Good meal, nothing to complain.

Nice atmosphere, good service, great soy-milk coffee. Nice but pretty ordinary food. Bustling with locals and tourists.
We had Wholemeal cafe recommended to us by family so were keen to try it on our arrival in Takaka. I ordered the salmon quiche with a green side salad and my husband ordered one of the specials, calamari with a green risotto. We had morning tea - tea, coffee and great savory muffins - and took away some quiche for a picnic lunch. Good coffee, great food and excellent service. We sat outside in the sun and read the paper and soaked up the atmosphere. We just wish they had been open on the Friday evening for dinner
We arrived here about 2:30 pm and the cabinet was on the empty side after lunch we opted for the Carrot cake and coffee. What's not to like. The menu looks interesting and should we return will give it another go. Nice vibe about the place.

The vibe at The Wholemeal is relaxed with Fat Freddy's Drop playing through the speakers. The staff are friendly and the service is quick. There is a wide variety of meals on offer to... More
