Lovely restaurant, looks small from the outside but quite big inside. The food that was being served up looked amazing and it tasted just as good as it looked. Not expensive either. Well worth a visit but may need to book as very packed. Staff...were nice and friendly and attentive.More

Invited by our uncle and aunt we had dinner at A Chamine. Original portuguese food presented in a beautiful way. A special starter (i do not remember the name) with shrimps, lettuce, apple etc. Very good! The mains with meat or fish were also very...good. The ‘flan’ was different but absolutely worth the try.More

Overrated. The fish was not ok. The deserts could be better. The service can be improved. A bad experience.

Terrible service. After 40 years of not visiting Portugal both I am my husband just having arrived in Altura after a 15-hour trip all the way from the Canadian Arctic. We were tired and hungry. We decided to try this place that was just next...door to our hotel. No sign to warn us to "'wait to be seated" or that reservations were needed. We waited for service, which never came and when we decided to ask why there was no service, and the servers were extremely rude and proceeded to embarrass us in front of all the other customers. I will never eat there or recommend it.More

I have visited this part of Portugal for the last 30 years. Various priced restaurants inexpensive to expensive. This is one of the worst I have visited and most rushed meal. Within minutes of being handed the menu the waiter was expecting an order. From...then ordering, the meal arrived within 5 mins. Quite obviously pre cooked. Potatoes stone cold ! Here is my advice save your money and go to Infante Panoramico ......oh and ensure you have the correct money to pay as we had to ask for our change. We always tip but certainly not 17€ tip (which was our expected change )for average food and poor service. Embarrassing! And never will I visit this place again.More

The restaurant is on the main street of Altura and good accessible. We did not had a reservation but were offered a table at the entrance. Service was direct. The food we ordered was ok but nothing special. I would not return to this restaurant.More

We went to Chamine for dinner as it was walking distance from the hotel. The staff is not nice at all. My youngest son doesn't eat fries and we asked for other choices. They couldnt give one. Also they were so stressed out for us...to choose that we almost didn't have time to do it. Finally, the food came in 5 minutes wich means it was pre cooked. We won't come again definetly.More

I've eaten here quite a few times without problems and my only complaint this time was with the service. The waiters just wanted to serve us with as little effort as possible and they seemed to want to rush us (the main course was delivered...as soon as we put down our cutlery from the starters), despite the restaurant not being busy. I think some of the staff need a 'shake up'.More

Indeed, it closes on Tuesdays. Most of the restaurants in Portugal close one day per week, usually monday or tuesday.
