Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Extraordinary wine tasting with incredible wines, including Brunello, Sangratino, Super Tuscan with Roberto, the patriarch and master sommelier. And with his son Luca. And beautiful olive oils! Accompanying dinner freshly made by his wife. An incredible experience!

My husband and I went her three years ago from a trip advisor review on our way back from Assisi and had the best meal and wine tasting experience that made us fall in love with the Angelini family and sweet town of Spello. This time we brought our 20 year olds and we all had an equally magic experience. The food, cooked by Mama Angelini, was some of the best food we had in Italy and the knowledge conveyed by Luca and Roberto, his dad, throughout the whole pairing was so generous and fun for all of us. Save a few hours and don't drive afterwards since they are so generous with the delicious wines.

We were recommended to visit Enoteca Properzio while cycling thru Spello on our way from Assisi to Spoleto & I have to say it was one of the highlights of our trip!! Roberto his daughter Irena were so hospitable & of course very knowledgeable of all the wines! It was truly an amazing experience - not only a wonderful meal but we tried some very special wines, olive oils & aged balsamic. This family & business is fabulous!!😘❤️🍷👍

I ate there during a visit to Spello. The restaurant is simple and with outdoor tables. We ordered the cutting board with Norcia ham and buffalo mozzarella. The ham was simply divine, the mozzarella the buffalo had never seen... Normal service. Adequate price.

The order was cancelled cause the bottle wasn't available anymore, I was very disappointed. They contact me, telling me that they had just sold the last bottle of Fuligni Riserva Magnum 2017...

We stayed at a hotel in Assisi that included a tour of and a lunch in Spello in its rate. We are generaly suspicious of a lunch included in a rate. Our lunch at Enotica Properzio 1 was very different. Roberto and lucca, a terrific father - son team, treated us as family. We ate outside on a beautiful day. By the end of the meal, there were ten wine glasses and four olive oil bottles on the table. I don't recall exactly what we ate but, the lunch was delicious. We rarely buy anything on "included" lunches or tours. Of course this time we purcahsed wine and oliver oil. The process was seemless and we received the package within a month of our lunch. All in all, our trip to Umbria was made even more special having met Roberto and Lucca.

We came here, very disorganised, in search of lunch a bit before 3pm. The waitresses were helpful, the food came quickly and was incredibly delicious, and it was all very affordable. Wonderful experience, thank you!

We have been to Spello several times in the past. We stayed at an apartment owned by Roberto and his family. Visiting them is like visiting family. We had dinner every night at the Enoteca and did a wine tasting too. Service was very good and the food was fresh and delicious. They are very generous with the wine pouring. They have many wines that we do not get here in the U.S. The Angellinis are very serious about their wine and they can give you all the details about where the grapes were grown, etc. So, if you are serious about your wine, this is the place in Umbria to go.

I loved this place! Hosts are the best. Friendly and very knowledgeable in their wines. Best part is the sampling. They have a small store where they sell a lot of products, although pricey, but offer some of the best wines in the world. I will be back! 😁

This is a MUST stop. You will not only find great wines from most of Italy, but some really wonderful wines from Umbria. The owners are extremely kind.

This is Italy! They are primarily selling wine and along with it you have full attention from the owner (Roberto) and his son Lucca (speaks great English). They serve the best bruschetta I've ever had (olive oil is divine) then the ravioli, also divine with meatballs and a salad. They are all beside the point, as it's the wine that was truly wonderful! (we ended up buying to be shipped home). Not being wine savvy we surely paid too much (the dinner was reasonable, but the wine we bought was probably not). Didn't matter, it was all divine and can't wait to sip it again back home in the states remembering how fun it was! Really fun evening and met some other folks from back in the States that we are meeting again tomorrow (so they gave us a bottle of wine to enjoy together for no cost).

The owner welcomed us with a lame "joke" ("we like people of your country because you've got a lot of money"), then wanted to serve us a wine of his choice without asking us, what we wanted, so we declined (be aware that a lot of the wines on the list are very pricey). The legume soup didn't taste like much either (nothing to do with an umbrian lentil soup).

I went to Properzio with a few friends for a glass of wine......seven hours later we were still there sampling great food, fantastic wine and chatting with the family members that own the place! Service was impeccable and we had a great time mingling with the locals! Will definitely go back!!!!

Would have loved to have visited there during our week stay in late March early April but was closed. No indication as to why. I assume non-tourist season???
