The location is truly suggestive. In a village in the splendid Spello there is this historic cellar which houses an excellent restaurant. The tables are well set. The menu is large and tasty. The wine list is also good. The dishes are excellent, full of tradition and flavours. Although the recipes are very rich, the dishes are still easily digestible. The value for money is also good. A few more smiles from the dining room staff would certainly help more. Staff however polite and helpful. Advised!

The friendliness of the owners and the quality of the food are the two fundamental ingredients for a place to enjoy high esteem and satisfied customers. La. Cantina di Spello is a restaurant with few philosophies and a lot of substance: product quality, knowledge and knowledge in the preparation of the same. If such a place had been created by some chef in the 2000s he would have philosophized in some social or TV show raising prices disproportionately and instead... The winery has maintained its identity without getting its head around it and remaining a fundamental reference point.

Elegant and characteristic restaurant in the small village of Spello. Dishes prepared with care and with quality raw materials. Great choice of wines from all over Italy, personally, I recommend choosing local ones if you are visiting. Quite varied typical Umbrian cuisine. Friendly and precise service, I really appreciated the mise en place. Excellent quality/price, in our case we ordered 2 starters, 2 first courses, a bottle of wine, water and dessert for around 80 euros. Obviously highly recommended!

Very characteristic place and courteous and helpful staff: we were welcomed, after a very short wait, without a reservation even though it was a Saturday evening. The appetizers served were tasty and well plated while, unfortunately, we were disappointed by the three first courses ordered. Stringozzi and pappardelle with wild boar sauce absolutely anonymous and uninteresting: pasta with sauce practically! The truffle gnocchi are sufficient but, here too, bland flavors and too many liquids on the plate. The dessert called Cremoso is nothing special: to us it seemed like an unsuccessful tiramisu... and again too liquid. We are also sorry to point out the prices which are not high but certainly disproportionate to the quality of the food which I would define as touristy.

Average dinner. (The steak brings down my judgment) Before ordering I asked what they were doing on the grill, the answer was “everything”. My expectation level went up a lot, then back to medium-low levels and when I got the steak. Cut, questionable (to my taste), cooked quickly and without letting the meat rest. Given the premises I expected a workmanlike ember, so if the vote was only for the Steak, that'd be 1! The rest of the dishes, good, hand cut ham, gruel (a bit cold), tartare, wine ok, cheek ... In summary, an average dinner (unfortunately I ate the meat, it will not fit in the album of my culinary memories).

My expectations of eating at this restaurant were high and instead it was a great disappointment. The service from scratch we ordered two different bottles of wine we kindly asked if the second could open it first to "oxygenate" they poured the first into the glasses and after a few minutes the waitress brought clean glasses for the second bottle telling us to finish the wine we had in the glass that had to take them away... what???? Good appetizer but in the norm even if we took 3 appetizers in 6 and they brought only 2 omelettes with truffles telling us that we had to divide by 3 each omelet * as big as an omelet) but if there were 3 appetizers? mixed grill Ni the inedible lamb too hard. Dolce mmmh.... The only positive thing the location!

Very nice and characteristic location for the main room, there is a shared table in a small room at the entrance that is not the best (we booked and fortunately without knowing its presence we were reserved a good table). Excellent appetizers, second cockerel and mixed grill - the latter a bit too dry. One of the not too professional waitresses. As proposed by the local could be improved some details (cooking of meat or attention in service).

Local located in the historic center of Spello, very cozy, furnished with antique furniture of Umbrian style. The cuisine is cared for respecting traditions. The products used are zero kilometer, as everything is grown or bred on the company’s farm: this makes a difference and you can see it while enjoying the dishes. We took for starter a potato and porcini flan with Reggiano fondue and very delicious black truffle, the really tasty frittata lazza al truffle, potato gnocchi with black truffle from Norcia. All washed down with 2 abundant glasses of Sagrantino. Truly honest bill, 75 € in 2 including water and coffee.

The dinner was very pleasant. Also nice to share the table with other people. The soups of both legumes and cod were all very tasty and the hot cake really good. Too bad the restaurant was overflowing so there was not a moment to chat and get advice from the staff.

After many years we returned to eat in this place full of history, flavors and high quality products. A well-served dinner with a menu of ancient and well-cooked dishes. The friendliness of the owner allowed us to learn more about what we were eating and where the raw materials came from. if it doesn't seem like much to you!!

Place recommended by the B&B manager but honestly, I wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend it. The location is certainly suggestive but the service is very "hasty" done by people without any attention to the customer (probably since they are tourists they don't count on one returning). The menu is very rich but with few typical dishes. The flavours.... nothing sensational or that remains memorable.

Following advice we decided to book Very nice restaurant/cellar, friendly staff ready to advise As wine we choose a red Montefalco from the Caprai cellars We take a Chianina carpaccip with rocket and parmesan (very good) and a potato pie with fondue, truffle and porcini mushrooms (delicate and really good) Let's skip the first courses to move on to the second courses: sliced Chianina (EXCEPTIONAL for cooking and flavor) and veal cheek braised with Sagrantino (fabulous) accompanied by baked potatoes (1 very generous portion, as well as being excellent) We close the dinner with 2 desserts: ricotta and mascarpone cream with amaretti biscuits and chocolate flakes - Chantilly cream with crumbled puff pastry (highly recommended) Everything excellent We will come back for sure

In terms of authenticity, service, food quality, and overall ambience, this restaurant was one of our family’s favorite place for dinner. Bravo to everyone working the evening we were there, for making our evening memorable! Our family of four all had a different meal (plus a past course) including pigeon, lamb, goulash, and mixed grill. Prosciutto and melon was outstanding! Wine selection excellent!

As a couple with my wife we decide to stop in this place around 8.45 pm on a weekday at the end of July. Having not booked we are told to wait about 30 minutes which we do without problems or controversie.Al moment we are invited to enter we realize that there are several empty tables: after waiting half an hour, and having seen only a family of 3 people go out, is not 'the best. The waitress then takes our order in a hasty and not very professional way while one of her colleagues after 10 minutes informs another couple entered after us of some off menus present. I repeat we had not created any problem by waiting outside with the utmost respect. Eat very good, to file only the service.

We stayed in the restaurant together with a couple of friends with children... the food was good and the price appropriate to what we ate! The service instead inadequate for such a place, both waitresses were rude to our simple questions (even, after 45 minutes from the order of the first of the children, were brought the second and to our question about when the first arrived despite the arrival of the second the waitress replied "I'm not in the kitchen!")... also they were very unpleasant and annoyed by the presence of 4 children at the table that, unlike almost everyone nowadays who are dumb to see tablets or phones and restaurants, laughed and played at the table without bothering anyone for charity as they should do. In conclusion good food but service deficit and bare.
