Came here in the day time for some food and a few beers which was very relaxed then came in a Friday with the rugby on with a great atmosphere. Good selection of beers, food was excellent and staff and locals very friendly!

There seems to be a never ending change in the tenancy of this pub which is one of 3 in Newton village. I personally like the quaint charm and the bar staff are great. I would recommend it.

Good service and very hot food. very pleasant evening. Parked just outside in car park that belongs to the church (I think) told it would be ok, I think you can park cars anywhere as long as its safe to do so best to check though.

Busted here with my sister's for a roast dinner . Glad we booked ad they have two sittings and both where booked up. The staff where attentive and friendly and the meal itself was fantastic.. I had need but at the table we had lamb and Turkey and no complaints. The gravy was homemade from juices I think and the... More

Called into this lovely pub whilst holidaying at Trecco Bay. Nice welcome lovely people in the bar. Percy the parrot was lovely too. Have a nice meal. Shame we had to sit outside because they don't serve food in the bar which was dog friendly. However the food was very nice and great service to. I would recommend it if... More

We were hoping for a great meal and at first were disappointed when we heard the Jolly Sailor was only serving Sunday roasts. However, We weren't disappointed for long. I can honestly say this was the best roast we have had in a pub in a long time. Lovely freshly cooked vegetables, big hunks of roast beef and the huge... More

Don't normally wright reviews, but we as a family do go out for Sunday lunches a lot and I must say this has to be one of the best we've had! The food was superb and the service was fantastic. The food was really tasty and plenty of it, the kids ate every bit and then tucked into their cake... More

Food was good enough, prices were reasonable too but the service was painfully slow. For a restaurant that had no more than 10 tables from what I saw it shouldn't have taken so long to get food out. Guess the kitchen was short staffed on the day we came.

Called in for Sunday lunch for 4 people, we had pre-booked which was just as well on an Easter Sunday as the place was full. They have two sittings - 12.30 and 14.30 - we had opted for the 14.30 and it seemed that, as everyone had arrived more or less together, the staff were a little disorganised as all... More
