I have been a patron of this restaurant for over 30 years, through changes, in chef and management.. I had lunch in December 2019 with my mother, who lives near by. I had the best Curry Mussels, I have had anywhere in the world, and...I travel the world regularly. I live in Japan , and commute to Virginia. The service may be a bit slow, but when you come to eat and savor their food you do not want to slop through your food. The prices are accurate for the food you get, I have yet to find better mussels anywhere, I'm still trying to replicate them. There are good days and other days for everyone, I thank them for being a lovely place to go with my 91 year old mother, nearby. Bravo Belfountain Inn, I will be back as soon as this Covid 19 thing allows!More

We intended to go here for Valentine's Day but were unable so we decided to go the next night and invited neighbours to join us. It had been years since visiting and I have a fondness for the area in general so was looking forward...to the visit. Arrived at 6 and struggled to find parking....the place was already busy. Greeted promptly and cheerfully and taken to our table. While we perused the menu the server brought waterMore

A lovely stop to see the Fall coloured leaves and have lunch in this quaint Inn at the Forks of the Credit village. On Thanksgiving weekend we were lucky to get one of the few tables not already reserved for lunch. We had the day’s...special which was veal liver on mashed sweet potato with red cabbage. The liver was so tender, it melted in your mouth. Dessert was Affogato which was vanilla ice cream topped with cubes of biscotti and had espresso poured over it all. Delicious! Coffee was rich and full bodied too. Worth a visit.More

After a delightfully strenuous workout at Forks of the Credit Provincial Park, our son and daughter-in-law surprised us with a brief drive to dinner at Belfountain Inn. The outside of this restaurant is country rustic, while the inside has more of a minimalist, clean, modern...feel. While the restaurant was full, it did not feel crowded . The menu choices were staggering! We were welcomed with cucumber water and fresh bread and a humus type spread on our candle lit table. Then the four of us decided to order beer, wine and six starters and two full dinners of bison and elk —-all to share. Everything was excellent and we ate until we were stuffed and we had no leftovers. And then we kept ordering .....now dessert coffees. Since we were celebrating a wedding anniversary, we were surprised with sorbet topped w a sparkler.....for the four of us to share. Two more things to note: 1. the server was also the owner. She treated all her customers with such care—-pleasant and a real perfectionist with precision to detail. 2. Make a reservation or you may miss out on tasting some of the best food in Canada.More

There are some days when you just have to get out of the city and enjoy a nice meal in green surroundings, and the Belfountain Inn is the place we escape to more than any other. It sits in a beautiful setting in a small...village right next to a branch of the Credit River. (If you're lucky, you can get one of the tables overlooking the fast-flowing current.) The service is excellent and the food is always fabulous--we are particularly fond of the cheeseburgers (maybe the best in the entire GTA!!!). The inn also has some tasty local beers on tap. All in all, a truly great escape.More

Happened across the Belfountain Inn purely by accident. Hiked the Bruce Trail in the Caledon Hills section, and wanted a place to go to celebrate our hiking success. Initially stopped at a local cidery, but were told they were not open to the public due...to a private function. So, some friendly locals suggested we head to the Belfountain Inn. Glad we did! When we arrived, there were only 2 other people dining at the 'inn'. Menu had a nice selection of items, and they feature local beers and ciders too. I had the Pommies cider (local), and my partner had a local beer (can't remember the name). Both were good and inexpensive. We ordered the fried olives (unique AND tasty) and mussels in chili wine sauce. The mussels came with a plate of delicious fries, served with their home-made mayo. Our bill came to around $35 for 2, not including tip. Well worth it. There was enough food for the two of us to enjoy. I must add that the mussels were delicious, and there was plenty for 2 people to share. This location would be amazing in the fall months as it is situated right on the Credit River, and the view from the patio would be breathtaking. Lots of trees surrounding the property too. Only issue is parking - there are limited parking spaces. We did not have a problem, but I can see it being an issue in the busier summer and fall season. Highly recommend this restaurant if you are in and around the Caledon area.More

Once again, enjoyed our lunch. Breaded hot olives are addictive. Lunch was good, especially home made bread. Deducted one star because the white bean and vegetable soup was not good, broth not much flavor and the beans and carrots hard. They have a wing and...fries day or night special for $11.00 and they also serve Caledon Hills beer. Will have to give it a try!More

Worth the detour on my trip to Orangeville, Belfountain is a very quaint village, and the Belfountain Inn is the perfect stop to take it all in! The views from the restaurant are very nice! The food was amazing. Everything on the menu looked so...good! I couldn’t decide between the escargot or the fried olives as a starter, so I got both! I was not disappointed! My main dish was the fish and chips, with a beautiful piece of battered cod, and the chips cooked perfectly! But my favourite was the house-made tartar sauce! Can’t wait to go back!More
