Met friends here for lunch, we sat outside overlooking the cricket green, and the tables were spaced apart so you didn't have to mind what you were saying unlike so many pubs who try to get everyone squashed in. The food was excellent although we...More

We came here with another couple on a wet Saturday evening, but nevertheless the village setting was lovely. We had a drink at the bar and served by very friendly and helpful staff. The food was good, my sea bream was delicious (I think warmed...More

Third / fourth visit this year, definitely won't be a fifth. Food below par, and will certainly not be making another mistake in trying again, much better alternatives in the area. Very disappointed, used to be so good.

Fifth visit and sorry to say the dining experience left us underwhelmed. Having enjoyed above average food on all previous visits our meals on this visit left a lot to be desired - based on expectations from previous visits. It wasn't bad enough to complain...More

Thank you for your review. We are delighted that you have enjoyed your four previous visits to the Noah’s Ark but it does feel disappointing that you did not choose to write a positive review on any of these occasions. We are sorry that you...More

When I arrived I felt sure that the Green must have been the setting in a Midsomer Murder episode. The setting and the day were just perfect. We were shown to a nice , cosy table inside the Inn. It was a Monday so we...More

We love the setting on the village green. It's a hidden gem. However, a consistent theme has developed on recent visits which is that they want to make it as difficult as possible for you to dine there. We've overlooked some recent bits of rudeness...More

Thank you for your review. It is incredibly disappointing for us to read such a negative assessment of the Noah’s; we endeavour to give all of our customers a positive and enjoyable experience. You should not have received such unhelpful advice and of course you...More

The ambiance in this beautiful, old house is excellent, although it will get a bit noisy when all tables are full. We arrived on a sunny afternoon and enjoyed drinks (try the Bloody Mary derivatives! or their cocktail of the month) on the outside tables....More

Had a lovely meal here on a sunny Thursday evening. Lovely to sit out and watch what is going on around the village green or in the pub gardens. The room where we sat was small and cosy, nicely furnished with rustic furniture. Lovely food,...More

Nice country pub in beautiful settings visited for a light lunch. Food nice. Visit spoilt slightly by price of a bottle of coke £3.20! Expensive for a family with kids.

Description
The Noah’s Ark sits right on the cricket green in the wonderfully picturesque village of Lurgashall, on the Surrey and Sussex border. It dates back to the 16th century, but has been brought up to date under the ownership of local couple Amy & Henry - with plenty of contemporary touches to the decor and the best of British cuisine.

Amy, along with her talented Head Chef, is careful to ensure that the Noah’s sources its ingredients from the very best of local suppliers. This is great for small local businesses, but also ensures that they have the best and freshest seasonal produce for a regularly changing menu and specials board. They are even able to do their own home-smoking, so the menu often features house-smoked meat, fish or cheese. Choose from king prawn, chorizo, and Lurgashall wild garlic linguine with chilli & rocket, or free-range pork belly with Lurgashall apple & sage jelly. There are always perennial favourites such as the homemade burger with Goodwood cheddar

As well as the restaurant, The Noah’s Ark Inn is also home to an inviting bar that’s perfect for whiling away the evening, drink in hand. The traditional feel and warm atmosphere provide the perfect setting in which to sample the vast wine menu, including over 20 wines by the glass, or the specially selected local ales. If you want to share your experience with a group, The Noah’s Ark Inn has several choices of dining
room and can provide tailored menus to meet the requirements of parties of
all sizes and for all occasions.
