Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had a lovely meal here tonight! It is open in the daytime as a cafe, not sure if the menu is the same though... We had garlic bread, chicken wings, delicious onion soup, beef steak with the BEST dauphinoise potatoes and a Lao rice and...dried pork dish which was so tasty! (Pictured) Waiters spoke very little English but we got by :) The only improvement I could suggest is to clear the empty starter plates as these were still sat on the table when we had finished our main course. Must try this place if you are in Pakse!! All of the above plus two beers was 213,000 kip - bargain for the standard of food!More

I could say that, atmosphere is scentful of both classic and vintage with French colonial building. In my opinion, you should a bit dressy even the most dressy for local people is wearing shirt. Showing prices in menu don't reflect foods' quality. I orderd full-course...dinner, onion soup, pork loin steak, traditional dessert. For onion soup, the taste is full-flavoured and its taste and smell really motivated my appetite. Cheese is sticky, proper to the soup's texture. Perhaps, its ingredients are not that rich as it should be at level, so the taste is a bit weak. For main course, I foucs on the steak meat, pork loin. Meat is much bigger than price. As I smelled, pork was grilled at the appropriate heat. Meat is well-cooked both in and out. When I chewed it, the meat is not hard, moist, with it sauce, everything is perfect. I have no comment with the dish. Dessert is well! I am familiar with Lao's dessert because Lao-Thai's dessert are shared identity, too, I have no comment. My dinner also included wine from Bordeaux, which is full-body one. I am sorry I can't remember the name. Waiters are enthusiastic and hospitality .Overall, I surely go to this restaurant again on next trip to Pakse. Ps 1. I just know that, chef is French. Ps 2. This price, this level of quality of food is unaffordable in BangkokMore

The restaurant is housed in a beautiful colonial well maintained building. You can have a drink on the terrace and have dinner inside. The service is good despite the fact that only one person speaks English... A glass of wine is just 18000 kip. In...our opinion very reasonable priced. The duckbreast and the ribeye with peppersauce were very tasty and cooked to our liking.More

I had the Tenderloin steak and it was as good as you could find anywhere. It was accompanied by Gratin Potato and a mustard sauce. Oh and I had the prawn soup to start and that was excellent too. Thoroughly recommend for the food, atmosphere...and service.More

This restaurant is in a beautifully restored colonial building more reminiscent of Luang Prabang than Pakse. The menu is not extensive but covers European and Asian food. I only had a spaghetti carbonara this time and it was excellent. The steaks and other meats look...appetizing and I'll be back for one of them on my next visit. Each table has a button for calling for service or paying your bill, I'm amazed I've never seen this anywhere else it seems so obvious.More
