We moored our sailboat off of Mai Kai for six nights and daily ate or drank something there, including one dinner and several happy hours. We like the friendly people/staff and the food. We have good memories of Mai Kai.

During our two-week trip to French Polynesia, we ate a lot of excellent food-- but Mai Kai really stands out! The service was quick, and views of the water were beautiful, and the indoor/outdoor atmosphere was perfect. But the food! Oh my goodness! I am...More
Went to this place on our new year vacation. Environment was good, but the food was far below average. Except for the tuna sashimis and the pan seared mahi mahi, the food was below expectations. Over-cooked steaks and tasteless pasta, with over-cooked lobster. Not worth...More
Very pleasant staff. Wonderful views over lagoon especially at sunset. Food excellent albeit expensive (typical for Tahiti).
