Visited for fish & chips. The fish was excellent-but soggy owing to being doused in excessive vinegar! Chips were O.K. but rather a lot of hard bits. Why is it not possible to allow customers to apply their own salt and vinegar? Certainly not cheap...More

Very good Fish & Chips. We have visited this chippy several times over the years, still top class. However it is getting a bit pricey to eat in compared to previous visits, therefore we now limit our visits. Come on Pollards, lower your prices a...More

I had the cheese & onion pie which was excellent, my son enjoyed his meat & potato offering but my good lady complained hers was cold. If I was reviewing solely on the basis of my pie it would be a top notch rating however...More

Had heard such a lot about this place but the fish and chips weren't special - they give you loads of extras and the staff are wonderful but no comparison to fish and chips from Bridlington and Cleethorpes!! You can tell we are well travelled!!!...More

We visited the day we returned from holiday. Obviously depressed this place didn't half lift the spirits. We ate inside although they have outdoor tables and of course the converted bus. We both had fish chips and mushy peas which I have to say was...More

When we first started going out, my fiancé used to drive me over to Grandma Pollard's, raving about the place. Now we try and drive over every time we feel like a chippy. Everything about it is top quality. We always opt to take out...More

Exactly as the name suggests. You go here for fish and chips. Good portions of good quality fish and chips. Staff are nice and friendly. Highly recommended.

I cannot really answer that question,I have asked a number of people and we all are stumped on it,As the batter is light and fluffy (My words) it is hard to tell,no doubt it will be Grandma Pollards secret.

This is not an ordinary chip shop. There is a lovely resturant or an old bus to dine in. In summer eat outside or by the canal.Childrens menu and wide range of meat pies and puddings available. The vanilla slices are great as wellaethe fruit pies All home made. All avilable with tea/coffee, bread and butter. Just go in the chp shop, order and the meal is brought to you at your table. The service is excellent. It is an experience to dine in the bus usually accompanied by 60s/70s music in the backgrund. The bus can be hired for private parties. The shop is open Mon. and Tues till 3.30pm and Wed.Thurs.and Fri. till 8pm. Not open Sat and Sun. It really is an experience (very good one), and well worth a visit. The place is spotless. We have been going many years now and there .are many regulars. I would recommend the chippy for a very enjoyable experience.
