A beautiful day in October. After a lovely visit to the San Galgano cathedral and the Eremo di Montesiepi we found Da Vestro open for lunch. The atmosphere is rustic, typical and sophisticated in the original Tuscan way. The food is wonderful. We had the antipasti, different pasta dishes (pici), tripe, tagliata. I think it was the quality of the... More

Da Vesto is in old farmhouse. Sit out the back and enjoy some excellent Tuscany cooking whilst being served by the super friendly gentlemen waiter. The location is great and the cooking is all "fait Maison". Da Vesto is defiantly the place to go in town so if you are staying in Monticiano or happen to be passing through go... More

We had a great dinner for a party of 16 with close friends and family. The staff was friendly and attentive. The older lady, i believe is the owner, was teaching my family Italian and how to say certain words correctly. She was so funny! We had a great time! The food was delicious. Simple, homemade food with great pastas... More

had the Gnocci for lunch and they were excellent, friendly service and nice location. Overall a great place to eat and enjoy Italian cooking. While I was there a few locals were also dining at other tables, a good sign.

My wife and I had the chance to have a very nice lunch during our trip to Florence. If you are traveling to visit Monticiano you will enjoy your meal. I had the wild boar and it was outstanding. Our concierge recommended them and it was a pleasure eating there.

I ate inside as it was cooler there [and I hate plastic seats, used by a lot of restaurants for eating outside]. Owner was a bit "reserved" first but he gave me a big smile when I paid [ha!]. I had gnocchi with fresh tomato plus sausage bits and rabbit for my second plate, both very tasty indeed. The bill... More

The food was excellent! We especially enjoyed an eggplant dish, like a thick soup/stew that was outstanding!

Service was a little slow. Nice ambiance. Nice wine list. My wild boar tasted like my beef paprika that I make at home. Meat is sold by wgt. and grilled - done this way in many places in Tuscany/Umbria. Prices were par for the area. Nothing exceptional.

Monticiano is a teeny little town, but we had a very enjoyable dinner at Da Vestro. I had the sausage pizza and my husband had the pici pasta with the wild boar sauce - both very good. And the house wine by the liter wasn't bad either!
