The pies here are home made and are so nice and they are big portions, however this is outweighed by the pet friendliness of the pub. I have no objections to dogs in a pub but not in a food area as with the best...More

Lovely food and atmosphere. Great in the winter with cosy open fire. It’s small so can get really busy for Sunday lunch.

Last minute decision to eat here due to Trip Advisor reviews. I've been to the Fish Quay many times but didn't realise this place was tucked around the corner. Good selection of food, reasonable prices and casual, friendly efficient service. I'm having pie next time!!

What a fabulous place, the oldest pub in North Shields built in 1657, food is freshly cooked, great choice, we had corned beef pie, twice fried chips, mushy peas with a jug of gravy, delicious. Ideal for couples, would highly recommend it.

We have visited this pub infrequently over the years, having never eaten there. Upon recommendation we partook of the home made pies and mashed potato It was delicious and served by helpful staff. We will call again next time we are in the area.
