Ate here and I have to say wow. Lovely place. Food was of an excellent high quality and service was great. If you visit Tomintoul you need to go to The Clock house.

We've become a regular at The Clockhouse.... we pass through once a year and stop for dinner! The food, as always, was excellent and prices reasonable. I can't think of one single fault..... except that we live around 600 miles away, so can't visit more often!!

Thanks to trip advisor, we sought this place out during a Rabbie's tour stop. Our best meal in our entire 5 days in Scotland!! Quaint little place with awesome service and even better food.

This restaurant is situated in the centre of the small village of Tomintoul and offers a relatively simple and straightforward menu. The food was well-cooked and good value. House wine was also good. Place was busy, so we were unable to get a table straight away in the evening, so may be worth booking ahead. Staff were pleasant, if not... More

Had an excellent meal at the Clockhouse. The food was first class and the prices were very reasonable given the high quality. A pleasant and enjoyable place to eat.

Lovely food and wonderful staff. The service was really good, and I had no problems at all. I was visiting the area during a recent holiday, and I would be happy to go there again if I happen to visit that part of the world in the future.

We had a decent lunch here but it was not a spectacular meal. The interior was old fashioned and the place did to give me a good feeling of atmosphere.

Had seen the Clockhouse on trip advisor prior to our visit to Tomintoul and glad we booked did not disappoint. Food was brilliant, Scottish food at its best. I had the mackerel pate and highland lamb both very tasty indeed whilst my husband opted for the specials of chowder and lamb liver which he thoroughly enjoyed. I cant understand previous... More

Dear Laura, We appreciate you taking the time to give an honest appraisal of our culinary efforts, it is heartening for all concerned. It is also great to get a revue from someone who has eaten in a restaurant a before, if only all critics were so qualified and eloquent. Many thanks. We hope to serve you again soon. More

Recommended as a nice bistro by our b&b, but very disappointed with the quality of the food. We ordered seafood chowder and mackerel pâte to start which were ok, but a little bland. At this point we did not mention anything as some starters can be less flavoursome if the mains stand up... they did not! I ordered the drunkun... More
