My sisters and I went out to dine on a Monday night and were so pleasantly surprised and impressed with the food and ambiance at Primo. Our server, Shane was a gem and seated us seaside as my reservation had requested. We were able to watch the waves rolling in and the occasional fish jump, so it was very very enjoyable. . My sister and I ordered the Parmesan encrusted barracuda and it came with two pieces of fish at top creamy mashed potatoes with bright, green, broccoli, and carrots, perfectly prepared. We ordered Caesar salads as an appetizer, and it was very well done with a nice fishy anchovy taste, which I love. My other sister ordered the Lebanese mahi-mahi and she quite enjoyed her dinner. Overall, this restaurant is one that shouldn’t be overlooked as the prices are very reasonable, they have a very good wine list and SERVICE was prompt and very friendly. I would highly recommend Primo.

We visited for New Years Eve, and although it was more expensive than other restaurant options, it was worth every penny! Gorgeous atmosphere and food. Views across the bay were amazing. We had a view of the sunset and staff were quick to point out the passing stingrays, puffer fish and turtles. Food was honestly delicious and large portions and again staff happy to make recommendations and adaptations where possible. Our thanks to Ricardo who we were lucky to have serving us that night! A really memorable meal.

Excellent service by Ricardo, very friendly and professional and made us feel very welcome. The restaurant has a lovely ambience and beautiful setting next to the sea at the end of the gap. A diverse menu catering to all tastes, we opted for fresh stonebaked pizzas which were delicious. A tad expensive but hey the food, views and service was worth it! Would highly recommend and thanks Ricardo.

Not what you would expect for NYE dinner at top rated restaurant. Food and service not great and there was literally no atmosphere at all. A few party hats and blowers available when we walked in so was expecting good NYE celebrations. Only background music playing. Slow service and mediocre food, sea-bass was very dry and overcooked. Ribeye steak chewy and very thin. The cost of the special NYE menu did not match the food, service and ambience. Very disappointing indeed!

We booked a table for 4people at 8:30 arriving at that time for a New Years Eve Gala 3 course dinner at 325BBD. Initially service very good by Dwayne who was exceptional throughout but clearly without going into great detail the restaurant and its chefs clearly had a massive problem getting orders out. Firstly we’d hardly sat down and two main courses arrived for somebody else’s table. Later four starters were put down and again were for another table. Dwayne very frustrated. After several questions about progress of our dinner with little meaningful info the starters arrived at 9:55pm - 1:25 after we’d sat down. We were now getting very frustrated and told Dwayne if the main courses didn’t arrive shortly we’d be leaving. Main courses arrived at about 10:30pm. Food was OK but by now we were past it. A manager called Sarah handled our complaints and initially offered a free bottle of wine. After the delay of the main courses we told them we didn’t want desserts and we would not be paying the 325BBD or any service charge. We offered to pay full price for drinks and wine we’d had but only the normal a la carte prices for four starters and two main courses. This was accepted with many apologies. It has to be said that Dwayne and Sarah were clearly as frustrated as us with being let down by the kitchen but were excellent in their handling of the situation. A full dampener on our New Years Eve but we did leave Primo in time to see the fireworks. It should also be noted that we were aware some other guests were also having issues. Clearly Primo needs to be much better organised on evening such as this when they’re running at capacity.

Our last visit to Primo was incredibly disappointing. We have been coming to Primo ( previously known as Pisces ) every year for around 20 years . And this was our worst experience . We waited 2 hours for the food to arrive . The waitress kept coming over to apologise saying that they were very busy …. We have never had this problem before and the restaurant has always been busy while we were visiting .When my husband was ordering a burger the waitress said “ very good choice “ …well when his burger arrived it was totally inedible . It tasted foul , was a sort of grey colour ( we all tried it ) . We called the waitress and showed her …after my son questioned her whether the restaurant makes their own burgers on premises she replied “ no they are frozen we buy them to order … I am sorry it may have been a “ bad batch “!! Really ?! No reputable restaurant would serve frozen burgers bought from another source . The manageress came over we invited her to taste it . She declined was very apologetic and offered my husband an alternative . He lost his appetite and was not prepared to wait another 2 hours for a meal . The manageress offered to take the price of our food off the bill and we only paid for alcohol, this certainly did not make up for “ lost evening” as we were looking forward to eating at our favourite place . Altogether terrible experience . Do not order burgers at Primo ! We will certainly not come back in a hurry .

Good day, Sorry to hear about your experience at Primo, your wait was not 2 hours, if you remember you sat at your reservation time and decided to order 45 mins after being seated, you wait was actually 55 mins, this is still way too long and for this we apologize. Regarding the burgers, I personally tried your burger when it was brough back to the kitchen and honestly could not find anything wrong with it, just a taste preference I assume. Lastly, it was really in poor taste the way you threw a tantrum with my floor manager at your table, she was trying her best to please you and frankly you acted very unfairly.

Good location with high expectations however we were sadly very disappointed. Service was very slow resulting in one of our party not getting starter at the same time and we had to chase for it to arrive 10 minutes after everyone else by which point the other meals were cold. The main courses were equally slow to arrive and had to chase again to get them delivered 1hr and 15 mins into our visit. The music choice at Primo was excellent, a little bit loud for a restaurant but it was then sadly ruined by the competing blaring music coming from the bar/restaurant across the road. When the food came it was very nice quality but by this point our party was very frustrated by the whole experience.

We made a reservation online for 6 people on new years day, we have always wanted to eat in this restaurant but always fully booked or they won't let you in without a reservation. When we arrived I was asked if we had made a reservation which I replied yes, when checking they asked if I was sure I booked the correct date. I said yes and confirmed my reservation the day before, after 3 people looking, we were taken to our seats. The food was delicious, the service at the table was very professional There was something missing for me, and that was the Barbadian hospitality. When leaving went to the bathroom, they were a disgrace . Overall worth a try nice food, that was about it for me, I wouldn't pay yo eat again at this restaurant

Good morning, thanks for your review, in defense of my loyal staff I will have to disagree with your comment about the 'Barbadian Hospitality', they are all well trained and their service is usually heavily complemented.

We arrived around 30 minutes early expecting to have a drink at the bar, we were shown to our table number 26, straight away, we then ordered drinks and then our meal, within minutes of finishing our starter our main course arrived which we struggled to eat because we’d only just finished our starter ! Food was nice and good service, but all seemed very rushed and as it was a Monday evening, it wasn’t overly busy ! Would return, but explain we need time between courses !

We had an excellent time at Primo. They had a special summer deal with 2-3 courses which encompassed a variety of different flavours. We ordered the meatballs and the spicy fish coujons as our starter and they were delicious! This was followed by the ribs and spaghetti pasta as our main - the food was so filling that we weren’t able to finish (but were given takeaway boxes for our mains and dessert). A special shoutout to Akeem and female server (Alicia - apologies if this is incorrect but she has a fringe and was the server on the top deck with piercings) who went above and beyond to make our name extra special. We will definitely be coming back.

Terrible experience from start to finish. While the waiter was great, the overall management was poor. We waited over two hours for food, only to receive two lukewarm dishes, one incorrect and incomplete dish, and another that was burnt and had to be returned. A manager was called to address the numerous issues, and while we reached an amicable agreement, it was a disappointing end to our last night on the island. As we left, we received a cheery goodbye but no real effort to encourage us to return. I won’t be coming back.

Good morning, we are very sorry for your unfortunate experience at Primo last night. We experienced some technical difficulties in the kitchen which led to some of our guests having long waits. Our deepest apologies this is not our usual standards. If I can be of further assistance, please email me at zary.evelyn@primobarbados.com

Primo is situated in a small bay overlooking the sea in a beautiful setting. The food was nice but a little overpriced. The service was poor and almost argumentative. We were brought the wrong wine but the waitress would not have it so we gave in so as not to ruin the night. Waitress was slow in taking order but keen to pour wine very quickly and in large amounts. Then bread came after waiting a while and finally took order. Service charge is included and then in Barbados they add optional tip on top. I declined this and was given very bad attitude. We tried this restaurant before when it was Pisces and service was bad then. We decided to try again after quite a few years but it is not for us unfortunately

Went here for dinner one evening. Came without reservation and were lucky to get a seat, I would recommend a reservation. The service was fast and very friendly. They kept our glasses full and provided delicious free bread. I had the Parmesan Crusted Barracuda and it was absolutely the most delicious fish dinner I’ve ever had. My wife had the shrimp pasta and she loved it, I had her leftovers the next day and it was delicious!! Coconut Shrimp as an appetizer, equally delicious. It was her birthday and they gave her a nice surprise cake. The price is definitely above average but the quality and quantity of the meal was well worth it.

Lovely location, friendly welcome, very poor food - the 2 flying fish starters were overly complicated, a blend of too many flavours to the point you couldn’t taste the fish, the Moroccan curry was creamy and incredibly salty but not as bad as the macaroni which was massively over seasoned- like a packet mix that was used at way too high a level. The chicken fettuccine had undercooked pasta. When asked we said it was all too salty and over seasoned and was told that I like it like that. Service was disappointing- many tables had food waiting to be served and the waiters sending back as the wrong items. Kitchen clearly had a problem. At $300 Barbados for 2 x 2 courses and 1 main + 2 drinks this was an expensive disappointment. Hopefully it was a bad night but we will not be returning.

Good day, I'm sorry to hear you did not enjoy your experience at Primo, as evident from the majority of our reviews, our guests usually enjoy their experience at Primo. The dishes you are complaining about usually get high praise. I do appreciate your review and will discuss your experience with my team.

I loved this place, the moment we walked in they were lovely, friendly and made sure we had an amazing table as we needed to be wheelchair accessible. All the food was unreal, our table all ordered different items and each item was great. I will say we did wait a bit for the food (40ish minutes) but they were quick with the drinks and let me tell you this is the best rum punch I had (and I did a lot of testing) the closest second is Mr. tickles. Overall this is a higher end restaurant so it will be much more expensive but the drinks, food and view is worth it!
